DIARY DATES Week 2, Term 3 – Thursday 31 July 2014 Currently
DIARY DATES 1 August LINC, 2pm 4 August Uniform Shop Open, 8.45am 6 August Year 6 Band to Red Hill Primary 7 August AMT Competition 7 August Aussie and Effort Assembly Week 2, Term 3 – Thursday 31 July 2014 Currently there are two safety issues that are causing angst and concern amongst the community. Firstly there are some drivers who do not adhere to road rules and, in particular, do not stop at pedestrian crossings and park illegally. Over the last month, we have been in discussions with ACT Roads Management and Safety who are now monitoring the traffic and motorist’s behaviour. Last week, Traffic Infringement Officers attended and took action against offenders. They were in attendance again this morning. Both ACT Roads Management and Safety, staff and a number of parents have been in contact with Act Policing Traffic Operations. The other issue is the building at the Canberra Hospital and the suggested impact that this is currently having on the pedestrian crossings on Gilmore Crescent. We are focused on being good communicators and committed to ensuring that our community have our common understandings about situations. We, therefore, have organised an information session next Wednesday, 6th August at 3.00pm in the school library. In attendance will be Brett Price (Hindmarsh Project Manager), Brendan Byatt (Project Manager, Point Project Management), Elizabeth Porritt (Healthscope) and Robyn Hawkins (Roads ACT, Traffic Investigations) to discuss the works. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information, ([email protected]) Best wishes Jennifer Hall, Nina McCabe, Robert Maccioni, Penny Taylor-Yates, Janice Hourigan and Christine Lomp Congratulations to the following students who received awards at this week’s assembly: Tom Tram Nguyen-6L Mai Dang-6L Hugo Houlahan-4F Toby Bush-4F Aditya Grama-3MH Coco Power-3MH Hugh Richards-1/2SB Cara Ceruti-1/2SB Blake Jones-1H Isabelle Scott-1H Adam Veloso-KHM Rylee Rains-KHM Anoush Yazdan-Parast-4N Mia Slater-4N Ashley Sachikonye-3JH Ryan Smith-3JH Liam Swann-2M Aidan De Brauwer-2M Hugh Larkin-2GL Zac Kwiatkowski-2GL Blake Wilson-5V Ryan Boulton-5V Matthew Chalmers-5S Ancelin Vincent-5S Ryan Goldsmith-1/2GL Anusha Dinesh-1/2GL Sanya Trukhanov-KL Hannah Boyce-KL Max Swann-3T Fumi Okawa-3T Zach Andrews-1/2L Logan Puric-1/2L Jeff Zhang-3DS Ciaran Ernst-Russell-3DS William Higgins-5/6DR Dharineesh Prashanth-5/6DR Will Riley-5/6DR Leila Haddad-5/6SR Elissa Youill-5/6SR Finn Walter-1TYH Rebecca Fu-1TYH Emmanuel Menon-4DW Keira Nerdal-KN Lucas Leung-KN DEAR PARENTS WE NEED YOUR HELP!
