Vale sponsors sole presentation of “Tom Jobim Plural” show in
Sao Paulo
Show is part of a national tour sponsored by the company
One of Vale's goals is to broaden access to culture for all social classes. This
time, through the Rouanet Law, the company is sponsoring pianist and
conductor Marcelo Bratke and Camerata Brasil (an orchestra of young
musicians from underprivileged areas of Brazilian society), who will be touring
the Tom Jobim Plural project between July and December.
Created by Bratke himself and artist Mariannita Luzzati, who also produced the
film/scenery for the show, the musical will arrive in Sao Paulo for one night only.
Entry is free of charge and the show will be held on September 30, at 11 am in
the Sao Paulo Room.
Created in honor of Antonio Carlos Jobim (1927 – -1994), a composer from Rio
de Janeiro, the project focuses on the symphonic elements and the
environmental themes in his work, particularly one of his main sources of
inspiration: nature.
Based on this, when Marcelo Bratke and Camerata Brasil play a repertoire of
memorable Tom Jobim songs, such as Modinha, Saudades do Brasil, Choro,
As Praias Desertas, Estrada Branca, Sabiá, Wave, Luiza and Samba de Avião,
the film/scenery produced by Mariannita Luzzati will be projected on a screen at
the back of the stage, with moving images focusing on Brazilian nature.
"The idea is take the audience on an imaginary visual and audio trip through
Brazilian fauna and flora, Jobim's biggest source of inspiration", said Marcelo
Bratke.
The project will visit ten cities in eight Brazilian states. The tour began in Itabira
(MG) and has visited Aracaju (SE) and São Luís (MA) prior to arriving in São
Paulo (SP). It also scheduled to visit Vitória (ES), Belo Horizonte (MG) and
Corumbá (MS).
