Practical and Attractive go well together
The Shower Channel is an easy to install and
aesthetically attractive discharge channel for
shower locations.
Because of the shallow depth and varying
lengths the shower channel is suitable for use
in new or refurbished projects.
As the discharge from the Shower Channel is
just one way, this makes the tile work easier.
If the Shower Channel is installed at the front
of the shower it will function as a barrier
against ingress of water whilst maintaining
a threshold free access.
If the channel is installed with a dividable grating then this can be placed under the shower
door.

Installation instructions
Where is it possible to use the ACO shower channel?
The shower channel can be installed in newly
constructed buildings as well as renovation
projects. It is necessary to prepare sufficient
space in the floor for the body of the shower
channel and the waste pipe. The shower
channels are available in various standard
lengths so that it is possible to select the
most suitable product for a given application.
Channels are available in designs with sectioned gratings to facilitate installation under
shower doors.

Important!
1. The off-take capacity of the channel is not
only determined by the capacity of the actual channel itself, but also the waste pipe to
which these elements are to be connected.
Please adhere to the following
instructions:
• The length of the waste pipeline to the
vertical waste stack of the system must be
as short as possible;
• Avoid bends in the system where possible;
• Make sure that the waste pipe has a suffi-
cient gradient for the discharge required;
• The diameter of the waste pipeline must
be at least 50 mm (or 40mm by plastic FAT).
2. The capacity of the shower channel is approximately 20 l/min (tested according to
EN1253), which is more than sufficient for
a majority of shower types. If the shower
channel is used for multiple showers or for
showers with a higher capacity please contact your supplier.
3. Select a Showerchannel length so that it
can be placed between the walls without
any additional tiles. The shower channel
can be placed both in the rear of the shower area or to the front, the former option
tends to be preferred.
4. If the shower channel is installed under the
shower door, it is necessary to use of the
shower channel with a sectioned grating so
that removal is possible.

Before installing the shower channel,
please remove the gratings in order to
avoid damage. Further protection is afforded by applying adhesive tape to the
edge of the shower channel.
Make sure that no impurities (mortar, etc.)
can get into the shower channel during
assembly and installation work. We recommend that it is temporarily covered during
these processes.
We recommend to use the emery paper
to roughen the side and bottom sections
of the shower channel, then use degreasing agent to achieve better adhesion to
the floor materials.
Connect the channel to the waste pipe
making sure that the pipe is inserted as
far as possible (regardless of the pipe
type – whether PVC, PE or PP).

ing the grounding conductor to the
grounding point of the drainage body.
Level the channel with the help of the extension brackets (fasten these brackets
with screws) or install the channel in mortar.
Fill in the space under the channel and
around it with cement mortar, taking into
account the thickness of the tiles.
While laying the tiles, it is necessary to
make sure that the gradient in the shower
area is always directed towards the shower channel. Place the tiles at least 1 to 2
mm higher than the upper side of the
shower channel edge, in order to avoid
pooling along the channel.
After tiling, seal the tiles to the channel
with a silicon sealant, complying with the
recommendations of the manufacturer.
For best results, make sure the silicon
joint has the same width and colour as
the joint between the tiles.
10. Remove any cement or jointing agent
residue carefully with the help of a plastic
wool/sponge.
11. Remove the protective film from the grating then install the grating back into the
channel.
Cleaning and maintenance
Stainless steel is vulnerable to scratches.
When cleaning, do not use sharp or abrasive
materials. Use common household detergents
for bathrooms or specialist cleaning agents for
stainless steel. The shower channel does not
require any special maintenance, but we recommend that you remove regularly the foul air
trap to check the drainage body for contamination and to remove any possible impurities.
