With constant presence in the market A.F. is an agile, reliable and transparent in managing their projects, combining
a commercial product made by good directors to films seeking copyright result of critical and international
recognition and has always focused on the feature film. For the execution of projects, we seek partnerships with
private companies, distributors and officials.
The Amazonas Film Commission was launched in January 2000 by the Secretary of Culture of the Amazon, as a
department of the Secretary with the goal to facilitate the procedures authorized by state ANCINE Productions
and taking place in the Amazon. The support offered by AFC is entirely institutional, through letters and crafts
and bureaucracy that facilitate the production process. In addition to this support, the productions that come in
contact with the Department of Culture of the Amazon may receive logistical support. This support represents an
important contribution, and often decisive for the film to be shot in the state.

ANCINE ist the National Film Agency of Brazil, responsible for the regulation and strategic policies for film and
independent TV production in Brazil.
Acere FC is a Brazilian production company based in São Paulo that works in the development and production of
audiovisual content. Acere FC creates products for film and television, projects for private and public companies,
educational content and interactive multimedia formats. The company has also accumulated large experience on
production service for other production companies filming in Brazil.
The four partners summed their experiences in feature films (Stomach, The sky we were born under, Flieger,
Hard Labor), management of cultural and governmental projects and of television channels in order to create
the company. Since 2007 Acere FC produces work for film and television together with important personalities of
Brazilian cinema.

Aranhas Films is a new production company from São Paulo (Brazil) that invests in language research and
experimentation of ideas and audiovisual forms. Launching young talent and participating in the interconnection
of various filmmakers countries the portfolio that Aranhas is building is marked by author projects in the area
of film and television, as well as video clips and formats aimed at brand communication. Among the guiding
values of the constitution of the company, there are: the plurality of artistic expression - reflected by the
subdivision of the brand in the creative segments: Aranhas Kids and Aranhas Cultural; the assemblage of ideas and
internationalization, as demonstrated by partnerships with other Brazilian producers in the form of co-productions

film and television markets. The company was founded in 2006 by experienced producers and the first feature
film, A Via Lactea (The Milky Way), was exhibited at Critics’ Week in Cannes 2007. Aurora Filmes invests in new

BIBI FILMS develops, produces and coproduces films with new visions and artistic value always backed-up by a
solid financial scheme. Our aim is to be a bridge between the european and latin america partners.
In addition to having a headquarter in Barcelona, BIBI FILMS has a production base in Rio de Janeiro and offer extra
options for those partners who are interested in carrying out full production and production service projects in
both countries.Bianca Smanio has produced shorts, documentaries and feature films, like „With Diva“, selected in
the Semaine de la Critique at Cannes and Sundance; the feature film „Next To Babilonia“ (Barcelona Film Project)
and „The Other Voice“, shot in Rio.

Founded in 2000 by producer Vania Catani, Bananeira Filmes has been confirming itself in the film business as
an important Brazilian production company. Its basic feature is the investment in independent productions of
remarkable artistic quality. The company has produced the debuts of renowned actors Selton Mello and Matheus
Nachtergaele as directors.After a successful effort with „December“,the partnership with Selton Mello repeated
with „The Clown“, the directors second film,that was released commercially in October 2011 reaching over 1.5
million viewers. „The Dead Girls Feast“, directed by Matheus Nachtergaele had its world premiere at the Un Certain
Regard screenings of Cannes Festival and represented Brazilian cinema at NY MOMA Institute, at an exhibition

Brasil Oikos is a new media production company that operates in Curitiba and in Rio de Janeiro through its partners
Carla and Marcos Böhler. It develops fictional films, documentaries, and innovative TV and Internet formats, such as
reality shows. The company has done some works in the field of environmental education in Germany alongside
NGOs and the German government. Also, its staff has a professional with a PhD in Ecology granted in Germany, who
motivates the development of programs and projects in the fields of entertainment and environmental education.
Brasil Oikos intends to popularize science through art and entertainment, showing the audience the beauty and
mysteries of nature in a creative way. Marcos Böhler is currently developing a multimedia project called Vogel Attackk,
with songs and video clips in German, English and Portuguese. Besides being company’s partner, Carla Böhler works
as assistant director at Globo TV Network in the soaps dramaturgy department, with long experience in this area.

The Brazilian TV Producers (BTVP) is an audiovisual content export program created by the Brazilian Independent
TV Producers Association in partnership with Apex-Brasil, Ministry of Culture and EBC/TV Brasil. It has been
promoting the independent audiovisual production abroad, enabling partnerships between Brazilian and foreign
companies. Our goals are to promote new co-production opportunities and develop international partnerships
for TV and new media producers.
Beto Amaral founded CISMA PRODUÇÕES in 2003. The company acts in the frontiers between the many artistic
manifestations. It has brought to the big screen the acclaimed partnership between Daniela Thomas and Felipe
Hirsch in the theater with the film SUNSTROKE, selected to the Orizzonti Competition in the Venice Film Festival.
Among many projects, CISMA has brought Pina Bausch to Brazil. It has produced a play by Monique Gardenberg:
Red Light Winter. Filme Fashion was a very popular film festival focused on fashion. It has created and produced
an art fair to young artists without galleries, a space to exhibit their work, ENTRETANTO. KOLLWITZSTRASSE, 52 is
aligned with the companys profile ; a play, an installation and a documentary.

Buriti Filmes is an film production company owned by filmmakers Laís Bodanzky, Luiz Bolognesi and producer
Marcos Barreto. Buriti Filmes produces short, medium and featured movies, fiction, documentaries and special
projects for TV. Buriti has been awarded over 70 Brazilian and international awards for its productions such as
“As Melhores Coisas do Mundo”, “Chega de Saudade”, “Bicho de Sete Cabeças”, “Cine Mambembe”, “A Guerra dos
Paulistas”, “Lutas.Doc”. The films were shown in all 5 continents and commercialized in over 20 countries. In Brazil,
all of Buriti’s productions were very well received both by the audience and by specialized critics.
Colibriglobal is a media company specializing in film programming, translation (subtitling), and more recently,
film production. It is based in Rio de Janeiro and London and specializes in projects that thematically bridge the
cultural divide between Brazil and the UK.
Its translation department offers high quality subtitles in six languages for films made in Brazil or about Brazil,
while its curatorial department organizes film festivals (with partners such as the Barbican Centre in London and
Curzon Cinema Soho, both in London) which have been running for the past five years. The company is currently
producing its first feature length documentary : “The Stuff of Time” which it hopes will be a co-production
between Brazil and the UK.

cod fishing, in several different parts of Brazil, seeking to enhance the human and natural aspects of the places
recorded. For 2 ½ years we display the picture Buzão Circular Peripheral TV Cultura in Brazil, in more than 40
episodes where we present a portrait of cultural production in the outskirts of cities. We received several awards

Graduated in Business Management in PUC-RJ, with post-graduation in Cinema Executive Production in FGV-RJ,
specialized in Cinema Direction by the Tempo Glauber School-RJ, I chose the Independent-Film way creating my
own company - called DiversidArte Filmes. After being Assistant-Director on short-films, I directed my first shortfilm, which was selected for the Mostra Internacional de Sao Paulo 2006. In 2011, I was the Executive Producer
of the first feature film of my company, called „AutoExposure“, which is gonna be launched commercially in
november 2012.

Mauricio Mendiola graduated from the UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO in 1970 and went on to get his Master’s

until 1976. He wrote for the Costa Rican newspaper LA NACION from 1971 to 1975 as a foreign columnist and

and television and earned many awards, such as two ASCAP Gold Awards for “Locomotive,PAE III” and another for
“Heaven”JPS”, a Gold Medal for Best Director in 1977 for the short film “MANDRAGORA”, a Bronze Medal in the New
York Festival for “Iron Fire” and “Burnt Children”, and BEST DIRECTOR “Distribución & Producción” in Miami, Florida,

The movie producer „O Quadro“ was founded in 2010 by Alexandre Rafael Garcia, Anderson Simão, Christopher
Faust, Evandro Scorsin and Wellington Sari, all former students of Cinema at the college of arts of Paraná (FAP/
CINETVPR). In the last couple of years the producer did several short-films with national distribution such as
„Monique ao Sol“, „Coloridos“, „O Último Dia“, „Memórias do Meu Tio“ and „Máquina de Sorvetes“. In 2012, aside from
„Filmes de Verão“ (three independent short films about love, shot in february: „Garota Explosiva“, „Sobrenatural“
and „Surf Surf“), produced the juvenile short films „Pequenos“ and „Meu Amigo Virtual“, at the same time it is
developing new film projects (short and feature films), also educational projects and audio visual propagation.

Paulo Gervilla is a well experienced software developer who always loved music. In the past 2 years he decided
to study professional audio technology. Former student of IAV (Instituto de Áudio e Vídeo in São Paulo), he is
currently building his own recording studio to work with music production and post production in audio for

Matias Mariani is a Brazilian director and producer graduated in Film & Television Production by New York University,
Tisch School of the Arts. After directing the short film “Rear View of a City” (2003) and working in several production
companies, Matias established Primo Filmes, together with his partner Joana Mariani, in 2006. In few years, they produced
many TV series, branded content, short films and feature films such as “Drained”, wich was part of the Official Selection
of 2007 Sundance Film Festival, “Fabricating Tom Zé”, Best Documentary Award at the 2007 São Paulo International Film
Festival and the Audience Choice Award at the 2007 Rio Festival, and “The Mountain”, an international co-production
with Três Mundos (Brazil), Verdeoro (Italy) and Stopline (Portugal) about the Brazilian army in the Second World War. In
addition to his career as producer and executive producer, he also directed, together with Maíra Bühler, the film „She
Dreamed that I Died“ which won the DOCTV-CPLP grant and was screened in nine Portuguese speaking countries and
territories throughout the world, and „Golden Mesh“, a fiction feature film released this year.

Split Studio comes to life in the now faraway year of 2009, with the goal to craft top-notch content. We believe in
being serious and fun, and in having a good time doing what we do best. Split‘s shorts „Arriving At The Moon“
and „A Common Place“ have been awarded at a number of important Latin festivals, such as Paulínia Film Festival,

With an annual funding budget of 35 million euros, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is the financially strongest
state funding agency in Germany. Among its shareholders are WDR and the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia,
as well as ZDF, RTL and the state media authority. The goal of the company is the promotion of film and media
culture as well as the film and media business in NRW. The Filmstiftung NRW funds films for both cinema and TV
in all phases of creation and utilisation: from the development of the project, to production and distribution. It
also funds cinemas.
In 2011 the Filmstiftung NRW has been extended to an integrated promotional institution for film and media.
Alongside funding, its responsibilities today also include location marketing and location development.
The Berlin based FILMKANTINE was established in early 2009 by Katrin Springer and Volker Ullrich to develop and
produce documentaries for cinema, television and other distribution channels for the German and International
markets. Both have been working in the Film- and TV Business for more than twenty years. FILMKANTINE is a

The German Federal Film Fund (DFFF) is a film-funding project, established in 2007 on the initiative of the Federal
Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) with an annual budget of 60 million Euros. The DFFF
aims at improving the frame conditions for the film industry, at preserving as well as enhancing the international
competitiveness of film industry related companies, and at providing sustainable impulses for the film production
location Germany as well as achieving other economic effects. All film producers with a business location or place
of residence in Germany can apply for funding if they provide an equity ratio of at least 5 percent of the total
production costs. Funding will be granted if the German production costs amount to at least 25 percent of the
total production costs. Up to 20 percent of the approved production costs spent in Germany can be funded. For
international co-productions, the applicant must provide an equity ratio of at least 20 percent of the production
costs. The fund’s duration is limited to three-year periods and has now been prolonged for a second time.

quality of German films. The FFA is an institution incorporated under public law. It carries out its business based
on the law on measures for the promotion of German Cinema – Filmförderungsgesetz (FFG). The FFA‘s duties
include enforcing measures to promote German cinema and to improve the structure of the German film industry,
supporting the national economic affairs of the film industry in Germany. Further duties include improving the

Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (MDM) awards funding to promising film and media projects realised in
Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Funding schemes are available for all phases, starting from idea development
through to production and distribution.
To be eligible, production companies must spend at least the awarded funds in the region of Mitteldeutschland.
In general, the funds must be paid back unless the projects‘s revenues fall short of a certain minimum.

starring Dustin Hoffman. Since 2001 Dietmar Güntsche is running “Neue Bioskop” as producer and managing
director. His productions include “alaska.de” which was awarded with two German Film Awards in 2001. “Angst”
took part in the competition of Berlin’s Int. Film Festival in 2003 and was also honoured with a Bavarian Film
Award. In 2005/2006 he produced “Where Is Fred?” and “Eight Miles High” starring Natalia Avelon and Matthias
Schweighöfer. In 2010 he received the Producers Award at the Bavarian Film Awards for the novel adaptation “Day
of the Cat”. Recent productions include “Chalet Girl” with Ed Westwick, Felicity Jones and Bill Nighy and “Föhnlage”
(Bernd-Burgemeister-Award 2011).

production of high class advertisement they focus on development and production of feature films. At the moment
their first international coproduction EASTALGIA is part of the international competition at Molodist Filmfestival
in Kiev and is the opening-film at Hofer Filmtage 2012 in Germany. Furthermore several cinema commercials are
in production and a number of feature films are in development. So far productions of NEUESUPER have been
screened and awarded at Berlinale Filmfestival, Next Generation Role Festival de Cannes, Young Directors Award
Cannes, International Hofer Filmtage, Filmfestival Munich - White Elephant and many more.

lands Niedersachsen and Bremen. Nordmedia was founded in 2001 and currently has a funding budget of 10

NDR, Radio Bremen and ZDF. Nordmedia is a member of Focus Germany and the North Sea Screen Partnership

Main purpose for this visit is my book about the Brazilian Movie Industry, scheduled to be published in Germany
end of 2013. Therefore I was already accredited to the Festival do Rio, RioMarket and RioSeminars and the next step

PANDORA FILM was founded in 1981 and established itself as distributor in Frankfurt and became a leading
distribution company of international arthouse movies. In 1997 PANDORA FILM PRODUKTION was founded as
production division based in Cologne. Their aim is to cooperate continuously with writers anddirectors who
develop their own and unmistakable cinematic language.
Rita Gloria Curvo is a Brazilian director, writer and script doctor who currently lives in Paris. She develops projects
for Tu Vas Voir Productions and Irreverence Films. At the moment she is creating two own feature films, one of
them to be shot in Brazil. Rita Gloria Curvo graduated in direction and screenwriting at The German Film Academy
Berlin ( DFFB), worked as assistant director for the film maker Clemens von Wedemeyer and directed several short
films in Germany. „The Nympho Nurses“ and „The Door“ made a remarkable short film festival career. „Die Tür“ was
sold to NBC Universal Germany. In Brazil, she directed commercials for Like Filmes and worked as script doctor. A

won her first movie-award in Belgium. 2006 she changed the name to viaschi film and the profile expanded to the
development of new tv- formats. Since 2008 she started projects in a new field: interactive cross-media projects
for the young audience. She realized several cross-media–projects for her special target group: young people
between 11 to 24 years old. 5 HEROES shows in consequence the newest cross-media project of Sylvia Schirmer.
