13th BRAZILIAN KIDS FILM FESTIVAL – BKFF 2015
REGULATIONS
1. INTRODUCTION
The 13th Brazilian Kids Film Festival takes place from August to November
2015 in different Brazilian cities. Submissions for feature and short films, as
well as TV series, are opened until May 22nd, 2015.
The Brazilian Kids Film Festival´s goal is to broaden and stimulate the
Brazilian youth´s interest in high quality and culturally diverse films. In
addition, the Festival promotes the connection between international
filmography and the Brazilian market to increase interest for international
kids oriented films.
Our programming presents a selection of around 100 works and we choose
3 to 4 films a year to be dubbed to Portuguese. Other films selected will
have the traditional voice over during the exhibitions.
The BKFF targets an audience of children and teenagers and offers a
selection of features and short films from different countries, including
recent and not so recent films as well as unforgettable classics.
2. SUBMISSIONS
The person responsible for the film should fill in the submission form
available at the website www.fici.com.br and post a DVD copy of the film
in an identified envelope (sender’s name, e-mail, telephone and address)

ATTENTION: The Festival cannot afford to pay for all custom taxes. To avoid
having your package taxed at the Brazilian customs, you must declare a
maximum value of US$7.

“No commercial value. For cultural purposes only. No pornographic

Even doing so, there is no warranty that there won’t be taxes charged.
Brazilian customs are very hard to deal and sometimes charge very high
amounts for international shipments. The BKFF does NOT hold responsibility
for any expenses regarding shipment of selection screeners.
Links for streaming will also be accepted, as long as the portal is free of
charges and it has no expiring date.
Submissions of international productions will be accepted until May 22nd,
2015 (postmarked date). Any material posted after this date will be
disqualified.
There is no submission fee.
Rules for submission
1. We will accept feature and short films and TV series made in any format
and in any year.
2. Screening format must be DCP or DVD.
2. Films that present scenes of drug use (including alcohol and cigarettes),
explicit sex or violence will be disqualified.
3. You are allowed to submit more than one film. In this case, please fill in
one submission form for each film.
4. We’ll only accept copies in DVD or links for selection. Other media won’t
be accepted.
5. The selection copy must have English subtitles in case original language
is neither English nor Portuguese.
3. SELECTION
The list of films selected by our Selection Committee will be available by
July, 2015 on our website www.fici.com.br. The responsibles for the
selected films will also be contacted by e-mail (we’ll use the e-mail address
informed on the submission form).
The Selection Committee’s decision is sovereign and can’t be appealed.

4. GENERAL
1. Selection copies won’t be returned to the sender, they remain part of the
Festival’s archive.
2.Expenses with shipment of selection copies are of the sender’s
responsibility.
3. BKFF’s organization won’t hold responsibility for any damage to the
shipped material done during transportation.
4. The responsible for submission authorizes the transmission of a
maximum of 1 (one) minute of the film on TV and/or Internet for Festival
marketing purposes.
5. The use of images and soundtrack on the films are the filmmaker’s
responsibility.
6. By submitting a film you authorize the Festival to screen it as a part of
the Festival’s programming.
7. By taking part of the submission process, the participant fully accept
these regulations.
