3. PARTICIPATION IN RESEARCH PROJECTS
As a faculty member and investigator at the Exercise and Health Department of the Faculty of
Human Movement, Dr. António Rosado is involved in a series of studies related to the
development of models and methods in the field of sport pedagogy and sport psychology. This
work was funded by internal grants and also by grants from the Portuguese Science and
Technology Foundation (FCT). Considering Sport Pedagogy, António Rosado has been involved
as researcher in a series of funded studies in the fields of Coach and Teacher Education,
Supervision, Athlete Long-Term Development, Comprehension, Retention and Persuasion of
Pedagogical Instructions, Personal and Social Skills Development, Inclusion and Sport
Education. In the area of Sport Psychology is involved with the studies of Emotional
intelligence, Resilience and Mental Toughness, Team Cohesion and Mental Skills Development,
namely in the validation of assessment tools. At the moment is a research member of a funded
project: Young talent player profile in team sports: crossing-over functional capacities,
psychological characteristics and game-related skills (FCT: PTDC/DTP-DES/1102/2012). He is
currently supervising several funded postdoctoral, doctoral and master thesis.
