instalação da caixa. A placa PCB da caixa
é muito sensível às descargas

1. Desaperte os dois parafusos da tampa e abra
a caixa externa

2. Retire a placa PCB e instale o disco rígido.
Aviso: não manipule os elementos
da placa (PCB), pode danificá-los e perder
a garantia.
3. Insira com cuidado o PCB com o disco
rígido instalado na caixa.

4. Coloque os 2 parafusos para fixar as tampas.
5. Ligue o conector micro USB do cabo à porta
USB 3.0 da caixa externa.
6. Ligue o conector USB 3.0 tipo A macho
do cable à porta USB 3.0 do computador.

Não é necessário instalar controladores.
Ligue a caixa externa à porta USB 3.0
do PC. Deverá aparecer um icono na barra de
tarefas na esquina inferior direita que indica um
novo dispositivo detetado. Faça clique em
“O meu computador” e o disco rígido aparecerá.
Se não aparece a letra do disco rígido em
”O meu computador”, deverá crear nova
partição no disco rígido.
Sobre formatos do sistema
Formatos do sistema de ficheiros de
Windows
Existem duas categorias de formato do sistema de
arquivos para usuários de Windows: NTFS e FAT32.
Use NTFS se utilizar o disco rígido só com
Windows XP, Windows Vista e/ou Windows 7/8.
(geralmente, o rendimento será melhor que com
FAT32). Este sistema de arquivos é compatível em
modo só de leitura com Mac OS 10.3 e superior.
Use FAT32 se pretender usar o disco rígido
indistintamente com sistemas operativos Windows e
Mac. O tamanho máximo de um arquivo individual é
de 4 GB.
Formatos do sistema de ficheiros Mac

Existem duas categorias de formato do sistema de
aquhivos para usuários de Mac: Mac OS Plus
(HFS+) e FAT32.
Use HFS+ se pretender usar o disco só com Mac. O
rendimento geralmente será melhor que com FAT32.
Este sistema de arquivos NÃO é compatível com os
sistemas operativos Windows.
Use FAT32 se pretender usar o disco rígido
indistintamente com sistemas operativos Windows e
Mac. O tamanho máximo de um arquivo individual é
de 4 GB.
Antes de começar, ligue a sua caixa externa
ao seu PC (o disco rígido deverá estar
corretamente introduzido na caixa externa).
Se o seu disco rígido já tem partição,
por favor, salte esta secção.
Os passos que se seguem irão ajudá-lo a criar
e formatar partições na unidade de disco
utilizando Windows XP. Os passos em Windows
VISTA ou WIN7 são similares.
1. Coloque-se sobre “O Meu Computador” e
faça clique sobre o botão direito, escolha
“Administrar” para iniciar o programa
“Gestão de computadores”.

Se o disco rígido contém
dados importantes,
CUIDADO por favor faça uma cópia de
segurança antes de iniciar
o processo de partição.

2. Faça clique em “Administração de discos”,
situe o ponteiro do rato sobre o disco rígido
“não assignado”, carregue no botão direito
do rato e selecione “Nova partição”
(O disco rígido aparece “Não assignado”
só quando não esteja particionado.
Se o seu disco rígido já está particionado,
salte esta secção)
3. Siga as instruções que aparecem no ecrã.
Se não desejar modificar nada, por
favor, siga carregando em “Seguinte” até que
mostre a seguinte janela.
4. Quando chegar a esta janela, escolha
“Formatar esta partição com a seguinte
configuração” e seleccione “Formatação rápida”.
Depois, carregue em “Seguinte”.

5. Finalizar o assistente.
6. Uma vez finalizada a formatação, o seu
disco rígido terá de aparecer como “Correto”.
Agora o seu disco rígido já está particionado,
formatado e pronto para ser utilizado. Em
O Meu Computador terá de aparecer uma
nova unidade de armazenamento.

comprou a caixa externa TOOQ,
e/ou os acessórios originais receberá a sua
reclamação e/ou prestará serviço de
garantia.
Por favor devolva a estação de docking ao
seu distribuidor ou comerciante retalhista para
solicitar serviço de garantia. NÃO devolva
a estação de docking à TOOQ.
Para poder receber o serviço de garantia,
deve apresentar o recibo de compra ou
prova de compra que tenha a data de compra.
A estação de docking deverá mostrar também o
número de série.
A garantia não será aplicável se o tipo ou
número de série no produto tiver sido
alterado, apagado, retirados, ou danificado de
modo ilegível.
O que NÃO está coberto pela
garantia.
„ Defeitos e danos resultantes da utilização
do produto para outro uso fora do normal e
habitual ou por não seguir as instruções deste

Seguiu corretamente os passos de

Estão ligados firmemente ambos extremos
do cabo USB?
Comprove ambos extremos do cabo USB e certifique-se
que estejam completamente inseridos nas suas respectivas
portas. Tente desligar o cabo, espere 10 segundos
e volte a ligá-lo. Se a unidade continuar sem ser reconhecida,
reinicie o computador e tente outra vez.
Existe um conflito com outros controladores de
dispositivos?
Desinstale os controladores de dispositivos conflictivos e volte a
tentar.
Está formatada a unidade?

2. Take off PCB and connect it to HDD.
Caution: Do not touch the chipset on the
PCB or the guarantee will be void.
1. Loose two screws to open the external
enclosure

3. Put the installed PCB with HDD into the
HDD enclosure.
4. Fasten 2pcs screws to fix HDD.
5. Connect the Micro USB 3.0 connector of
the cable to the USB 3.0 port of the external
enclosure.
6. Connect the USB 3.0 Type A male
connector of the cable to the computer.

When using the external
enclosure with WindowsXP/VISTA
/Win7/8/10 or above
No driver installation needed.
Connect the external HD to a PC´s USB 3.0
port. An icon should appear in the right corner
of the task bar where indicates new hardware
detected. Click the icon “My computer” and a
letter of the HD should appear.
If the letter of the HD does not appear, you
should partition the HD.
About File System Formats
Windows File System Formats
There are two file system formats for windows user:
NTFS and FAT32.
Use NTFS if you will be using the drive only with
Windows XP, Windows Vista, and/or Windows 7
(performance will generally be greater when
compared to FAT32). This file system is compatible
in read only mode with Mac OS 10.3 and higher.
Use FAT32 if you will be using your drive with both
Windows and Mac. Maximum single file size is 4GB.
Mac File System Formats
There are two possible file system formats for Mac
users: Mac OS Extended (HFS+) and FAT32.
Use HFS+ if you will be using the drive on Macs
only; performance will generally be greater when
compared to FAT 32. This file system is NOT
compatible with Windows OS.
Use FAT32 if you will be using your drive with both
Windows and Mac. Maximum single file size is
4GB.

Create partition and format
Before beginning, connect your external HD
to a PC (The HD should be mounted into the
external enclosure correctly). If your HD has
been formatted, please skip this chapter.
1. Right click on the My Computer icon; click
"Manage" to initialize the Disk Management
program. You can also click "Start" -> "Control
panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Computer
Management")
The following instructions will help you to
partition and format your HD in the Disk
Management of windows XP. The operation
under Windows VISTA or WIN7 is similar.
Caution
The data on your HD will
be lost. If you have
important data on the HD,
please back up the data
before beginning the
operation.

2. Please click “disk management”, right
click the “unallocated” disk and point the
“new partition”. (The HD appears unallocated
only when your HD is not partitioned. If your
HD has been partitioned and formatted,
please skip this part.)
3. Follow up the installation of “Partition
Wizard” to operate the disk of partition and
format.
4. When this window shows, please select
"Format this partition with the following
settings" and check "Perform a quick
format", then click the "next" button

5. Finish the assistant
6. Click "My Computer" and confirm that the
new "Removable" icon appears. The External
Enclosure with hard disk drive is now ready
for use.

Warranty information
The TOOQ dealer or retailer where you
purchased the external enclosure and/or
original accessories will honour a warranty
claim and/or provide warranty service.
Please return your external case to your
dealer or retailer to claim your warranty
service. DO NOT return it to TOOQ.
In order to be eligible to receive warranty
service, you must present your receipt of
purchase or a comparable substitute proof of
purchase bearing the date of purchase. The
external case should also clearly display the
serial number. The warranty will not apply if
the type or serial numbers on the product
have been altered, deleted, removed, or
made illegible.

„ Defects or damage resulting from use of
the product in other than its normal and
customary manner or by not following the
instructions in this user manual.
„ Defects or damage from misuse, accident
or neglect.
„ Defects of damage from improper testing,

„ Breakage or damage to enclosure unless
caused directly by defects in material or

„ All plastic or metal surfaces and all other
externally exposed parts that are scratched or

FAQ
The drive is not recognized by the computer?
Does your computer’s configuration meet the
minimum system requirements for use with this
drive?
See section System requirements for more information
Did you follow the correct installation steps for
the specific interface and operating system?
Review the installation steps in section: Hardware
Installation.
Are both ends of the USB cable firmly attached?
Check both ends of the USB cable and make sure that they
are fully seated in their respective ports. Try disconnecting the
cable, waiting 10 seconds,and then reconnecting it. If the
drive is still not recognized, restart your computer and try
again.
Is there a conflict with other device drivers?
Uninstall the conflict device drivers and try again.
Has the drive been formatted?
Please see section: Create partition and format.
Does your computer’s operating system support
the file system?
Check your computer’s documentation and see section:
About File System Formats.
Do those USB ports of your computer work well?
Try the external enclosure in another computer to see
whether it works.
Does your computer have Virus?
Buy an original antivirus and scan your computer.
Does your hard drive have defect?
Scan the hard drive by using the diagnostic software of hard
drive. The software can be downloaded from the homepage
of the hard drive manufacturer.
