PRODUCT: Ferro Silicon Magnesium (FeSiMg) Special
01 – Application
FeSiMg alloys are the most commonly used Products for nodulizers. This product is the most
economical as it allows to obtain larger amounts of ferrite and decreases the tendency of free
carbides formation in cast iron.
Although the contents of Cerium and Rare Earth Alloys, present in the alloys are low, the sum
of these two have nodulizing effect and hence helps the Magnesium providing better yields.
Moreover, these elements inhibit the harmful effects of elements such as lead, tin, arsenic,
antimony, bismuth and selenium, which, even in small quantities, reduce the efficiency of
magnesium and deteriorate the shape of graphite nodules .

PRODUCT: Inoculant LGI-CA
01 – Application
The LGI-CA is used to inoculate both the Grey Cast Iron as the Nodular Cast Iron.
The effect of inoculation by using this product results in a better form of graphite, in the
increase of the physical and mechanical properties, as well as improved machinability.

PRODUCT: Inoculant LGI-Z2
01 – Application
The LGI-Z2 is mainly used for inoculation of nodular cast iron, eliminating the negative
effects of super cooling caused by magnesium.
The silicon contained in the inoculant is an excellent ferritizing and graphitizing. Moreover,
this element increases the incorporation into the metal.
The Zirconium is an Oxygen, Nitrogen and Sulphur binder and eliminates impurities in the
base iron in the liquid state.

01 – Application
The LGI-Z7 is used as an anti-chilling. The silicon contained in this inoculant is an excellent
ferritizing and graphitizing. Moreover, this element increases the incorporation into the metal.
The Zirconium is an Oxygen, Nitrogen and Sulphur binder and eliminates impurities in the
base iron in the liquid state. On its turn the Barium potentiates the effects of this inoculant.

01 – Application
In Grey Iron, the Calcium and the Barium provide a powerful nucleating effect, minimize the
supercooling and promote an eutectic solidification with graphite type A. The high content of
silicon serves to further increase the number of eutectic cells. In the Nodular Iron, the LGICB reduces the tendency of formation of carbides.

01 – Application
The LGI-S2 is an excellent inoculant that provides a greater reduction in the chilling during
casting due to the Strontium contained. Because of its efficiency, it can be used in smaller
quantities when compared to other inoculants. Another advantage is the low level of Calcium
and Aluminum contained, which guarantees a minimum formation of drosses.

PRODUCT: Ferro-Silicon-Zirconium (FeSiZr)
01 – Application
It is commonly used as an alloying element for production of high quality steels. The
Zirconium has a great affinity with oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur, reducing its harmful effects
in steels. It is widely used as a deoxidizing agent. It diminishes the chilling effect in special
alloyed cast iron, facilitates the attainment of globular inclusions of smaller size and avoids
brittle inclusions during rolling or steel forging. It decreases the fragility in special stainless
steels.

01 – Application
The ferro-silicon is an iron primary alloy, silicon and residual elements used in the
manufacture of metallurgical products. Therefore, it is an essential raw material for producing
iron and steel. It is mainly used as a deoxidizer in the steel production and as an alloying
