Candidate Registration with Coffee and Donuts Followed by Ceremonial.
Dress is business casual. This is for shriners only, ladies may wait upstairs.
11:00 am Ladies Luncheon Welcoming new Noble Ladies to the Temple. Our guest
speakers will be Queen Pr0Tem of Mat-ta-nah Chapter of the Daughters of
the Nile, Faye Brown and Imperial Lady Cheryl Sowder, wife of Imperial
First Ceremonial Master Imperial Sir Jeff Sowder, of Shriners International from Toronto, KS and Midian Shrine Temple.
2:00 pm – until? Ladies and families join men at the temple for Arkansas/Florida
Potentate Tailgate party. GO GS! We will have pre and/or post game live
music by the Art Deco Trio. Fun times for all including games and bouncy
house for the kids! (Tailgate party subject to game time change. If the
game is later, plan on party starting one hour before the game. If the
game is earlier the party will start following the ceremonial.)
We will have a special guest during this event. Imperial First Ceremonial
Master Imperial Sir Jeff Sowder and his Lady Cheryl, of Shriners International from Toronto, KS and Midian Shrine Temple will be joining us. We
are honored and proud to have them here!

Fellow Nobles;
We live in exciting times. We will be initiating over 30 new members on or by
October 5th. We will have special guest joining us. Imperial First Ceremonial
Master, Imperial Sir Jeff Sowder, and his Lay Cheryl. They have both been so
supportive in our membership drive. Please help me welcome them October
4th and 5th.
Come join me in welcoming our new members after the Ceremonial at our
Potentate Tailgate of the Arkansas/Florida game. GO HOGS! We will have
pre and/or post game live music by the Art Deco Tri. Fun times for all!
October 17th starts our 4th Haunted House. It is looking creepy. Come see a
sneak peak every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9. Don’t forget to buy you
Haunted house tickets we mail you earlier this month.
As usual the Calendar is packed. The holiday’s are coming so which means
we will switch gears to parades, parties, and especially our children. Last
year we hosted a record number of Children at our Patient Christmas
Party. We are out of Gifts. Please consider contributing to the Patient Party
fund to buy Christmas Gift for the Children again this year. The party will be
December 8, at 2pm.
Speaking of Parties, why not end the year with a bang and help a worthy
cause. We will be hosting a New Years Eve Party December 31st with Our
Shriner Hospital Monte Carlo Benefit. Due to space limitations, tickets will be
limited to the First 150 Couple or 300 People. Tickets are $50 per person or
$100 per couple. We will have the same band as at the Ball, Mike Grimes and
the Loose Ends. We will also have charitable gaming tables. Use your winnings to buy several of the auction Items at the end of the night. All sponsorships, prizes, and tickets will be tax deductible as a donation to this Shriners
Hospital for Children Fundraiser. We will Also have a Patient Ambassador as
well as Staff from our St. Louis Hospitals to answer any question about Shriners Hospitals in St. Louis.
Having Fun and Helping Kids! That’s what it is all about!

Haunted House. Please log on to facebook and “like“ both of these pages. I try to post current Shrine related
articles and event reminders to make it easier to remember when things are happening and so you can invite
your friends to events. If you need help call on me and I will be happy to walk you through it.
Also I have been trying to keep the website www.scimitarshrine.com up to date. If you want to email or print
posters or flyers for the Temple of Terror they can be downloaded from the website. Send them to everyone!!!! We need your help to let people know about the Temple of Terror so we have a great turnout.

Congratulations to Scimitar Shrine on the number of candidates for your upcoming ceremonial. Mat-Ta-Nah
Temple is looking forward to the ladies luncheon and the rest of the days activities.
It's been a hot, busy month for many of us. This transplanted northwesterner can't figure out whether to water or drain the swamp. We do know fall is on the way because they are picking muscadines and the tomatoes are loosing their leaves. Anyone out there tired of tending the garden and all the wonderful fresh produce.
Mat-Ta-Nah Temple has sent a big box of school supplies and pillow cases to the Shreveport hospital, with
more to go after next stated session. We will be collecting socks for toddlers and teen girls. And more pillow
cases. I am empting my stash, much to my Noble's delight.
We are continuing planning for our ceremonial November 13 when Supreme Queen Margaret Ann will ride
into town on the tour bus so generously provided by Daughters of the Nile Foundation, Shriner's Hospitals for
Children and Shrine International. She is expected at Scimitar Shrine Center about 10:00. Come see it and
stay for the banquet.
