Brazil x All the Others
Brazil x All the Others JVICTTOR Artist presents Brazilian football on canvases and screen prints, playing with proportions and exaggerations to express the excitement of a great final. The pieces that make up the Brazil x All the Others series are the result of years of trips to the Maracanã Stadium, of the joys and sorrows of football, of Cups, videotapes, TV shows, radio broadcasts, sports newspapers, and even of discussions with friends. A selection of scenes in which players from countries all around the world defy Brazil in a showdown to put in evidence the legendary hegemony of Brazilian football. JVicttor brings to his canvases and prints all the images he collected in his imagination since he first put a foot on a soccer ball. The sport that fascinates him is presented in a fantastic universe where he plays with proportions and exaggerations to put into evidence feelings such as adrenaline, anxiety, and excitement that alternate or occur simultaneously during a grand final. In 2014, the year in which the World Cup celebrates football in Brazil, JVicttor presents at the Patricia Costa Gallery, in Copacabana, 3 canvases in acrylic on linen and launches the Brazil x All the Others print album. The “On The Field of The Arts” group exhibition is scheduled for June and includes works by Rubens Gerchman, Luiz Aquila, Augusto Herkenhoff and Nelly Gutmacher. "My first drawings were of football fan flags in Maracanã, at age 11. This work is the opportunity to give back to football the emotions and beauty it gave me."
