Sterling Tyler Williams, Jr., was born in New York City on November 27, 1967. He
was born unto Rosie Lee Williams and Sterling Tyler. From the beginning Sterling
was a jack of all trades. As a child, ages nine through fourteen, he perfected dancing.
He attended the dance theater of Harlem where he mastered, jazz, modern and ballet.
He went to Public Elementary School P.S 153, then JHS Elleanor Roosevelt 183, and
after George Washington High School. Before deciding to go onto a four year college,
he went through a period of perfecting all his skills and trades.
He attended, Wilfred Academy, school of hair and cosmetology. Then he became a
C.P.A., a Certified Public Accountant. Still bored, he went on to acquire certification
as a pharmaceutical technician, then Social Services and Child Welfare. After five
certifications, as if that wasn’t enough. It was now time for his bachelors degree from
Touro College.
Sterling was indeed an awesome individual. He was a best brother, cousin, nephew
and friend to us all. He would help a stranger. He was the man to call at 2:00 a.m. for
counseling and never would any calls go unanswered.
In his final occupational position at the Citizens Advice Bureau as a citizens advice
agent. He was an individual that assisted unfortunate people who fell on financial
hardship and could no longer afford and or fell behind on their rent. He would get their
rent paid immediately and stop unfair evictions, all too often going above and beyond
his call of duty. Did I mention, he would help a stranger. In fact Sterling has a friend
here today, that not only he , but he and his mother fell on financial hardship and yes,
Sterling got them the funds they needed to bring them current on their rent, He was a
good man!
Sterling grew up in a dynamic household, being raised by his parents and
grandparents. Living under the same roof as his grandparents children. In essence, his
uncles, were not his uncles, but his brothers. Sterling loved his family dearly.
Sterling leaves to mourn his passing: his mother, Rosie Lee Williams; eldest brother,
Pernell Williams; brothers, Melvin Williams, Randy Williams, and Troy Williams;
sisters, Archelle Williams, Gaywanna Burgos and Tawanna Bryant; brothers-in-law,
Troy Bryant and Waled Burgos; sisters-in-law, Georgia Williams and Cherryl
Williams; nephews, Trent Banks Jr., Tyrique Williams and Khalid Burgos; six nieces,
Star Asia Williams, Diamond Burgos, Denvah Burgos, Tenejah Williams, Tadeisha
Bryant, Treasore Bryant; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and wonderful friends.

Psalm 23
The Lord is My Shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in the path of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
