COMPETITIVE GROUPS- ATTENDANCE IS SO IMPORTANTANT AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
We have 6 classes left until we compete in Lanigan. Usually our competition dances must be learned in 5or 6 lessons- and 3-4 lessons
are needed to polish them. If you miss a class- we will not have time to re- teach the choreo from the prior week- so please try to learn it from
fellow dancer in your class. We want competitions to be a positive experience for all. In order for it to be positive- the students must know
their dances well and be able to perform them with confidence and ease. We take attendance every week- Those who miss classes without an
excused absence- (parent phone call- with a legitimate reason) may not be able to compete, everyone needs to have good attendance .If your
child is not feeling well-or is injured- but can still come to watch- they will know what has been taught and can practice once they feel
better. We compete the 3rd weekend of March! The standards for competitions are high, how well we prepare will show in the quality of our
competition marks and recital. We will be making practice cds so students have their group music. You will not find their songs
online as they have been edited and some parts of the songs have been cut out. You will receive your cd in your mail box and are
expected to submit your payment promptly in an envelope with your name on- put in the office on Miss Dayna's Desk - or give it to
her directly. Those who didn't pay last year - will not receive one this year. We recommend practice at home once or twice a week.
Tiny tots will not need practice cds as they do not compete.
REGARDING COSTUMES- BALANCES ARE DUE BY FEB 15TH- PLEASE BE PROMPT IN SUBMITTING YOU COSTUME BALANCES WITH
A POST DATED CHEQUE DATED FEB 15TH- 2015- WE WILL BE SENDING COSTUMES HOME JUST AFTER THE FEB BREAK. Please try
them on again at home and do any necessary alterations- When you arrive to compete- please get the whole group together- look to see
everyone‘s costumes are on the same way. Cut anything that's too long- ribbons etc- so they all look the same. Experienced moms - PLEASE
HELP OUT NEW ONES> Thank-you COMPETITION SCHEDULES ARE NOT OUT YET- WE WILL NOT RECEIVE THEM TILL MARCH.
MAKE-UP COLORS AVAILABEL AT SHOPPERS- GET ASAP- IF THEY RUN OUT AND NEED TO REORDER- IT TAKES A WEEK OR TWO.
IF YOU HAVE MAKE UP FROM PREVIOUS YEARS- IT HAS NOT CHANGED- SOMETIMES THE MAKE UP COLOURS WE USED HAVE CHANGED
NAMES- BUT ARE RELATIVELY THE SAME COLOURS. Usually make up is not dark enough - The stage lights really make the faces look pale .
Tiny tots - only need blush and lipstick.
All other groups- Apply eyeliner on the top and bottom of your eye. Eyelashes -a heavy coat of black mascara on both the top and bottom
lashes. Blush needs to be heavy . Lipstick applied right before we go to backstage.
Black twist up eyeliner- not liquid- and Black mascara
Cover Girl Eye Shadow- #125- called Dance Party
Cover Girl Blush- #185- called True Plum
Sensational lipstick- color- Mauve It Up
Glitter Hair Spray- available at Dollar Store- get silver or multi color
Older groups only- ages 14 and up- Thursday dancers only- Eyelashes - Quo Eyelashes- #806 or #809 and lash adhesive. Get some silver eye
glitter for the eyelids, but don't make it a solid color on the eyelid- take it up to the eyebrow but not as heavy there- fade it out at the eyebrow.
TIGHT COLOURS- AT MONICO CRESTING- GET ASAP- IF SHE RUNS OUT AND HAS TO RE-ORDER- IT MAY TAKE A FEW WEEKS.
For all Ballet Groups including tiny tots- Mondor tights- Ballerina Pink - Boys- black longer socks that go up the leg half way to knee.
For all Jazz Groups- Mondor Suntan Beige- except the Hey Mickey group wear black- as their shoes are black. Boys- black longer socks that go
up the leg half way to knee.
For all Tap Groups- Mondor Suntan Beige- except Sh Boom wear black- as their shoes are black.
Hip-Hop Groups- Girls wear Mondor Black tights- It was just too hard to find all black shoes that matched, and the shoes people were getting
were leaving black marks all over the floors. So we have ordered matching shoes for all the girls hip- hop groups this year. This is very
important in the overall appearance of the group. Matching shoes will add a polished professional look. Please keep them in good shape as we
are planning to use them again next year- by ordering new for those that don't fit anymore and selling your used shoes to another dancer in
the group- if they want to buy second hand.
Hip Hop Boys- black longer socks that go up the leg half way to knee and plain black shoes, no colors- if colored spots- either spray paint or
cover with black electrical tape. Please make sure you do this before you come to competition- we just don't have time to do it when the
competition is on.
Lyrical - suntan beige tights and beige jazz shoes. Modern- Mondor Suntan Beige- and bare feet or foot thongs- ask Miss Dayna what your
group is doing. Younger exam girls in the senior modern- "CHILD'S PLAY" are to wear their black exam bodysuits with plain black short shortsno colors or writing, symbol,s etc... on them. Suntan beige tights - must be convertible style as they will be pulled up to the calf muscle.
CHILD NAPPERS- you need your own large black hoodie- longer and bigger is better.
Musical Theatre groups- Mondor suntan beige tights- beige jazz shoes

Tiny tots - High curly pony tail- no bangs- part hair on the left and sweep bangs to the right.

Tuesday after school groups- SHAKE IT OFF, MILKMAIDS, HIP TO BE SQUARE, WINTER FUN, AND CHAIN GANG - 2 HIGH PIGTAILS- CURLY
GR 3- tap, jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre- BOM BOM, ROCK IT, I WANNA BE A ROCKETTE, ALL these groups- HIGH PONY TAIL- STRAIGHT
HAIR- NO CURLS THIS YEAR- NO bangs- part hair on the left and sweep bangs to the right.
GR 3 BALLET AND MODERN- Masquerade - RISE ABOVE IT- high bun- .- no bangs- part hair on the left and sweep bangs to the right.

Elementary and up- Thursday and Friday Dancers- EXTRA EXTRA, STREET BEAT, - HIGH PONY TAIL- STRAIGHT HAIR- NO CURLS THIS YEAR- NO
bangs. TRY, STAY WITH ME, FOOTLOOSE AND JOKER- pull bangs and hair from the side- to top of head- with the bump we did last year.
TRIBAL JAZZ - HAVE WILD BACK COMBED HAIR- BUT YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN BLACK 1-2 INCH HAIR BAND TO USE. BALLET/ POINTE
GROUPS- ANITRA'S DANCE, ENCHANTED, CHA CHA FLAMENCO AND CANDLE ON THE WATER- LOW BUN- NO bangs.

( We will need to get pictures done sooner as we have many students involved with the music festival. The music festival dates were changed this year and it
runs April 20-23- piano, April 27- 30th- voice, May 3-7- Band and final concert Awards Night is on the May 7th. Music Festival is now in Muenster.
27th, 28th, 29th - Lanigan Competition- all groups 8 yrs up will attend as well as solos and duets
PICTURES AT REFLECTIONS BY RICHARD- order forms will be in your mail boxes at the studio. Drop
off your order sheets at Richards two week prior to pictures, as Richard needs time to set up the list.
