a) Website opening
The design of the website was created by IRD Webmaster, Ms Elise Coste, since it was
cheaper than subcontracting this service. Moreover, the IRD Webmaster proposed to
continue the monitoring of the website throughout the CLIM-AMAZON project. Two
versions were prepared: one in English and other in Portuguese languages (see below):
 Website in English version
The website in English version (www.clim-amazon.eu - see Annex I) was created
between May and November, 2012 by manager (Pauline Cazaubon), WP4 leader
(Poliana Dutra Maia) and Deputy WP4 leader (Lucieth Cruz Vieira); and the content
was approved in the steering committee. The website was launched on November 7th,
2012 in the presence of Mrs Sigi Grüber, Head of North America, Latin America and
Caribean of the Directorate General for Research & Innovation of the European
Commission..

TEACHING: training seminars… / MEETINGS, etc.)
- Presentation of the project to the local authorities and local research institutions.
Around 25 people attended the presentation.
- Networking discussions.
- Meeting for the organization of the June Amazon scientific expedition with CPRM
representatives.
5.
Results
- Encouraging first contact with people from various institutions of the Pará State
(Geological Survey of Brazil-CPRM, Federal University of the Pará Sate UFPA,
Goeldi Museum, Protection System of Amazonia-SIPAM, Secretary of Industry,
Commerce and Mining oft he Pará State-SEICOM, Secretary of Environment oft he
Pará State-SEMA). These people will be invited to the next workshop (4th and 5th
July, 2013 in Brasilia).
- Efficient discussions concerning the organization of the June scientific expedition,
with CPRM representatives that have a strong experience in this field.
6.
Conclusions.
The short visit in Belém turned out to be fruitful to clarify divulgate the project to various
potential future partners of the Cheesed centre. The local institutions in Belém appeared
curious about our project (they made many questions in terms of financial resources and
possibilities of collaboration to our project activities, including scientific expeditions,
workshops, inclusion of social demand within the project, etc.). The 3-hour and a halfmeeting on the organization of the June Amazon scientific expedition was not foreseen.
However, it turned out to be a key meeting in the organizational steps of the June
scientific expedition.
