assignments and carbohydrate-ligand discovery; immuno-assays; protein purification and analysis methods;

Carbohydrate-ligand discovery for recognition systems of biological, biomedical and biotechnological
importance using carbohydrate microarrays; structural analysis of the protein-carbohydrate interaction by
protein X-ray crystallography; neoglycolipid-based oligosaccharide microarray technology; ‘designer’
microarrays from microbial and plant polysaccharides (Glucans, LPS and others,); glucan-binding proteins of
the immune system e.g. Dectin-1; lectin-carbohydrate interaction in the immune system; mammalian and
microbial carbohydrate binding proteins (e.g. lectins, CBMs and glycoside hydrolases, antibodies); hostpathogen interactions mediated by carbohydrate recognition; cancer-associated carbohydrate antigens;
recombinant protein expression; protein crystallization; protein and protein-ligand structure determination.
