Yıldız Technical University located in
Istanbul, Turkey, represented for the
purposes hereof by its Rector Professor Dr.
Ismail Yüksek, and the University of
Minho, located at Largo do Paço, 4704-553
Braga, Portugal, represented for the
purposes hereof by its Rector Professor
Antonio M. Cunha, united in their desire to
contribute to establishing and/or developing
scientific co-operation through the mobility
of doctoral candidates agree in accordance
with the applicable laws, rules and
regulations in force in each of their
respective countries and Institutions to
jointly organise a doctoral thesis for the
benefit of Mr. Onur Onat.
The principles governing the joint doctoral
thesis as well as the relevant administrative
procedures and education related matters
are established in this protocol.

doktora adaylarının hareketliliği sayesinde
bilimsel
işbirliği
kurmaya
ve/veya
geliştirmeye katkıda bulunma isteğinde bir
araya gelerek; ilgili kurumlar ve ülkelerde
yürürlükte olan uygulanabilir yasalar,
kurallar ve tüzükler uyarınca, Sayın Onur
Onat’m doktora tezini ortak olarak organize
etmek üzere anlaşırlar.
Ortak doktora tezinin esasları, ilgili idari
prosedürler ve eğitimle ilgili koşullar bu
protokolle belirlenir.

1. At the moment of subscription of the
present protocol the candidate is enrolled in
the
doctorate
at Yıldız
Technical
University, starting from date 20.09.2011.
1. Bu protokol imzalandığı anda, 20.09.2011
tarihinden başlayarak, doktora öğrencisi Yıldız
Teknik Üniversitesi’nde doktora programında
kayıtlıdır.

candidato está matriculado no Doutoramento
na Yıldız Technical University, desde
20.09.2011.
2. The candidate shall be registered to the
research doctorate in Civil Engineering at
the University of Minho for a minimum
period of one year, paying the respective
tuition fees for the academic year.

ilgili harç ücretini ödeyerek, en azından bir
dönemliğine
Minho Üniversitesi İnşaat
Mühendisliği doktora programına kayıtlı
olacaktır.
2. O candidato deverà inscrever-se no

Universidade do Minho pelo período mínimo
de um ano, pagando as respetivas propinas
relativas ao ano curricular.
3. The period involving researching and
writing the thesis shall be a minimum of
three years from the starting date of
20.09.2011. Equivalence at University of
Minho will be attributed to the tutorial
courses (or equivalent) and plan of thesis
defence obtained at Yıldız Technical
University, Turkey.
3. 20.09.2011 tarihinden başlayarak, tezin
araştırma ve yazma süresi en az üç yıl
olacaktır. Minho Üniversitesindeki denklik,
Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesinden alman dersler
(ya da eşdeğerleri) ve tez savunma planına
dayanacaktır.
3. O período de investigaçâo e escrita da tese
deverà ser de, no mínimo, très anos contados a

CLAUSE
4. The thesis shall be researched at both
Institutions by means of alternate periods
defined in accordance with the supervisors.
The duration of the stays at the University
of Minho shall be not less than 12 months.
5. The University of Minho will not provide
any benefits of a health insurance. The
candidate may independently take out
personal insurance, or use the legal
protocols between Portugal and his own
country.
4. Tez, danışmanlara uygun olarak tanımlanan
birbirini izleyen sürelerde her iki kurumda da
araştırılacaktır. Minho Üniversitesi’nde kalış
süresi 12 aydan az olmayacaktır.
5. Minho Üniversitesi sağlık sigortası
sağlamaz. Doktora adayı öğrenci, bağımsız
olarak kişisel sigorta yaptırabilir veya Portekiz
ve
kendi
ülkesi
arasındaki

4. A tese deverà ser desenvolvida em ambas as
Instituiçôes em períodos alternados definidos
de acordo com a indicaçâo dos orientadores
científicos. O período de doutoramento na
Universidade do Minho näo deverà ser inferior
a 12 meses.
5. A Universidade do Minho näo irá cobrir os
custos de saúde. O candidato deverà assegurar,
de forma particular, um seguro de saúde
pessoal, ou recorrer a protocolos existentes
entre Portugal e o seu país.

3. The thesis shall be written in English and
shall be accompanied by an extended
summary in Portuguese and in Turkish.
4. The thesis will be defended by means of a
single oral defence that shall take place at
Yıldız Technical University in Turkey in
front of an examination commission.
5. The
examination
commission
shall
comprise a number of members designed in
accordance with the applicable laws, rules
and regulations of both institutions.
The doctoral degree shall be awarded by
each Institution:
Yıldız Technical University will award a
doctoral degree in “Graduate School of
Natural and Applied Sciences, Civil
Engineering Dept, Structural Engineering
Doctoral Programme.
The University of Minho will award a
research doctoral degree in “Civil
Engineering”.
3. Tez İngilizce yazılacak; Portekizce ve
Türkçe detaylı özet de buna eklenecektir.
4. Tez savunması tek bir sözlü savunma ile
Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi (Türkiye)’ndeki
sınav jürisi tarafından yapılacaktır.
5. Sınav jürisi, ilgili kuramların uygulanabilir
yasalar, kurallar ve tüzükler uyarınca
uygun olan sayıda jüri üyesinden
oluşacaktır.
Doktora derecesi her iki kurum tarafından
da verilecektir:
Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi “Fen Bilimleri
Enstitüsü İnşaat Mühendisliği Anabilim
Dalı Yapı Doktora Programı”nda doktora
derecesi verecektir.

1. The doctoral candidate shall observe the
rules and customs of the host Institution as
well.
4. A tese concluir-se-á com uma defesa oral
única que terá lugar na Yıldız Technical
University, na Turquia, perante um júri de
avaliaçào.
5. O júri será composto pelo número de
membros designado de acordo com a
legislaçâo e regulamentaçâo em vigor em
ambas as instituiçöes.
O grau de doutor será atribuido por cada urna
das universidades:
A Yıldız Technical University atribuirá o grau
de Doutor em “Escola de Pôs-Graduaçâo em
Ciências Naturais e Exatas, Departamento de
Engenharia Civil, Programa Doutoral em
Engenharia Estrutural.”.
A Universidade do Minho atribuirá o grau de
Doutor em “Engenharia Civil”.

kurallarına da uyacaktır.

2. The contracting Institutions, through the
Departments/Research Centres of their
respective thesis supervisors, undertake to
notify each other of all the information and
documentation useful for the purposes of
organising the joint thesis that is the subject
matter of this present protocol.
3. The presentation, deposit and reproduction
of the thesis shall be done in each and every
country in accordance with the applicable
regulations in force. The protection o f the
subject matter of the thesis and likewise the
publication, exploitation and protection of
the results obtained by the candidate's
research in the contracting Institutions shall
be subject to the applicable law in force and
guaranteed in compliance with the specific
procedures in this regard of each of the
countries involved in the joint thesis. If
requested, the provisions in connection with
intellectual property rights may be agreed in
specific protocols or documents.
4. This protocol shall be effective as and from
the date of its execution by the authorised
representative
of
each
contracting
Institution and shall be valid until the end of
the academic year during which the thesis
will be orally defended.
5. The present protocol can be modified and
drawn up by means of a dual protocol
subscribed by the authorised representative
of each contracting Institutions.

Merkezleri aracılığıyla bu protokolün konusu
olan ortak tezi hazırlamak amacıyla gerekli
olan tüm bilgi ve dokümantasyonu birbirlerine
bildirmeyi yüklenirler.

Departamentos/Centros de Investigaçâo dos
respetivos orientadores, comprometem-se a
notificar-se mutuamente acerca de informaçöes
e documentaçâo úteis para o tema deste
protocolo.
3. Tezin sunumu, tevdii ve çoğaltılması,
yürürlükte olan uygulanabilir tüzükler uyarınca
her bir ülkede yapılacaktır. Tezin konusunun
korunması ve aynı şekilde protokolü imzalayan
kurumlarda doktora öğrencisinin elde ettiği
sonuçların
basılması,
kullanılması
ve
korunması, yürürlükte olan uygulanabilir
kanuna tabidir ve ortak teze dahil olan ülkelerin
her birinin bu konudaki belirli prosedürlerine
uygun olarak garanti altındadır. İstendiği
takdirde, fikri mülkiyet hakları özel protokoller
ya da dokümanlarla sağlanabilir.
3. A apresentaçâo, depósito e reproduçâo da
tese será realizada em cada um dos países, de
acordo com a regulamentaçâo em vigor. A
proteçâo do tema da tese, assim como a sua
publicaçâo, valorizaçào e a proteçâo dos
resultados obtidos pela investigaçâo do
candidato está sujeita à legislaçâo em vigor e
garantida
em
conformidade
com
os
procedimentos aplicáveis a este respeito por
cada um dos países envolvidos. Se solicitadas,
as disposiçöes relacionadas com os direitos
de propriedade intelectual devem ser
acordadas em protocolos ou docum entos
específicos.

Bu
protokol,
yetkili

onaylandıktan sonra, imzalanma tarihinden
itibaren geçerli olacaktır ve tezin sözlü
savunmasının yapıldığı akademik dönemin
sonuna kadar geçerli olacaktır.
5. Bu protokol protokolü imzalayan kuramların
her birinin yetkili temsilcisi tarafından
imzalanan
ikili
protokol
aracılığıyla
değiştirilebilir ya da oluşturulabilir.
4. Este protocolo entra em vigor a partir da data
da sua assinatura pelo representante de cada
urna das instituiçöes e será válido até ao final do
ano letivo durante o qual terá lugar a defesa oral
da Tese.
5. O presente protocolo pode ser modificado e
elaborado por meio de um duplo protocolo
subscrito pelos representantes de cada urna das
instituiçöes.

6. In the case the doctoral candidate does not
register in one or other of the contracting
Institutions, the contracting Institutions
shall jointly and without delay terminate
this protocol.
This Protocol is signed in two originals in
Turkish, Portuguese and English. In case of a
discrepancy or difference in interpretation
between the English translation and the
Turkish and Portuguese translations, the
English shall prevail. Each party holds one
original signed Protocol.
6.
Doktora öğrencisi protokolü yapan
kurumlardan birine ya da diğerine kayıt
yaptırmazsa, protokolü yapan kurumlar ortak
olarak ve gecikmeksizin bu protokole son
verirler.
Bu protokol Türkçe ve İngilizce olmak üzere;
iki orijinal kopya olarak imzalanmıştır.
İngilizce ve Türkçe çevirileri arasında bir
yorumlama farklılığı ya da tutarsızlığı olduğu
takdirde, İngilizcesi geçerli olacaktır. Her bir
üniversite, bu Protokolün bir aslını muhafaza
edecektir.
6. Nao se verificando a inscriçào do candidato
em alguma das ou em ambas as Universidades,
as instituiçöes deveräo, em conjunto e de
imediato, pôr fim ao presente protocolo.
Este protocolo será assinado em dois origináis,
em Turco, Portugués e Inglés. Verifícando-se
alguma discrepância ou diferença
de
interpretaçào entre as traduçôes das várias
línguas, permanecerá a versäo Inglesa do
protocolo. Cada uma das partes possuirá uma
versäo original e assinada do Protocolo.
