“Clube Naval de Cascais was first founded by sailling
enthusiasts in 1938 and proudly celebrated its 75th
Anniversary in 2013.
It has been dedicated to promoting the excellence and
expansion of sailling in Portugal, with a variety of
activities from a Sailing School to a Sailing Program for
the hanicapped”
The Club is located on the shore of the beautiful Bay
of Cascais, right on the Atlantic Ocean, 5 nautical
miles from the mouth of the Tagus River and 11 miles
from the centre of Lisbon. Once a picturesque fishing
village, Cascais is now a vibrant and sophisticated
centre for social, cultural and sailing activities, vying
with established venues as the hottest spot in the
European Sailing Calendar. Sizzling in fact: we are
hosts to the America’s Cup, Mod70’s, RC44’s, European Dragon Championships, Transat Classics, Cascais
Vela and many, many more.

Pretty Cascais, once humble fishing village, first gained
prominence due to a King’s whim... in 1870, King Luís
II - an avid Oceanographer- made the Citadel of
Cascais into his summer residence. The Court, of
course, followed, and this once sleepy little village
