RESUMO
O diabetes infanto-juvenil é um problema de saúde com grandes repercussões sociais, cuja
importância vem aumentando em nossas comunidades, não só pelo aumento do número de
casos que vêm sendo detectados, como também pelos problemas que a doença acarreta.
Tendo em vista a quantidade de fatores decorrentes das complicações causadas pelo Diabetes
Mellitus que interfere na restituição da saúde, torna-se indispensável o desenvolvimento de
ações dentro das escolas que visem a integridade dos alunos com diabetes infanto-juvenil. O
professor interado do assunto pode identificar o problema precocemente minimizando ou
acabando com as complicações que na maioria das vezes podem levar a seqüelas irreversíveis
aos sistema renal, sensório-visual e até cardiovascular. Através do método descritivo qualiquantitativo o presente estudo tem por objetivo compreender a importância dos professores na
abordagem do tema diabetes infanto-juvenil no Instituto Municipal de Educação Engenheiro
Francisco Erse da cidade de Porto Velho – RO. Os resultados indicaram a necessidade da
criação de programa que vise a educação dos professores no reconhecimento e manejo do

ABSTRACT
The infant-juvenile diabetes is a health problem with great social repercussions, whose
importance is increasing in our communities, not only by increasing the number of cases being
detected, but also by the problems that illness brings. In view of the amount of factors arising
from complications caused by diabetes that interfere in the restoration of health, it is essential to
the development of activities within the schools addressing the integrity of students with children
and juvenile diabetes. The teacher interado the subject can identify the problem early
minimizing or ending with the complications that most often can lead to irreversible sequels to
the renal system, sensory-visual and even cardiovascular. Through the method descriptive
quality, this quantitative study aims to understand the importance of teachers in the approach of
the subject infant-juvenile diabetes at the Institute of Municipal Education Engineer Francisco
Erse the city of Porto Velho - RO. The results indicated the need for program aimed at the
