Our journey starts at Quinta do Lago Country Club at 8:30 am.
Starting with some warming up exercises, a smile on your face and we are

Uns exercícios de aquecimento, sorriso na sua cara e já estamos prontos para
começar a nossa grande aventura!
Seguimos a pedalar em direcção à Praia de Faro…
Após alguns metros entramos no Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, um paraíso natural
entre a terra e o mar, paisagem idílica onde avistamos dunas e ilhas.
After admiring the beautiful landscapes of Ria Formosa Natural Park, we arrive
to Faro Beach and we will find a different reality. Here we see the colorful kite
surf wings in the blue sky and other nautical sports.
We go up to the wooden bridge in-between the dunes and we enter in the
world of the people from the sea. We observe the fishermen and his
characteristics houses and we can feel the smell of the sea.
Depois de admirar as belas paisagens proporcionadas pelo Parque Natural, chegamos
à Praia de Faro onde iremos encontrar uma outra realidade.
Aqui avistamos no céu azul as coloridas asas do kite surf e diversos desportos
náuticos.
Subimos ao passadiço de madeira e continuamos por entre as dunas e entramos no
mundo das gentes do mar. Observamos os pescadores e as suas casas características
e sente-se o cheiro do mar.
We return to Quinta do Lago….
We enter once again in the Ria Formosa Natural Park where we are going to
have the possibility to touch the salt from the salt marshes and see Roman
vestiges.
We enter in the Forest where we find beautiful pine trees (Pinus pinea) and
with some luck we will be able to see the chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon)
or the hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus), hear and observe birds as the
Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber), Fulica (Fulica atra) and species at risk like the
Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) and the Little tern (Srerna albifrons).
Seguimos a pedalar em direcção à Quinta do Lago….
Entramos novamente no Parque Natural da Ria Formosa onde vamos agora ter a
possibilidade de mexer no sal retirado das salinas e de ver vestígios Romanos.
Entramos na zona de Bosque onde encontramos belos exemplares de pinheiro-manso
(Pinus pinea) e com alguma sorte podemos ver o camaleão (Chamaeleo chamaeleon)
ou o ouriço-cacheiro (Erinaceus europaeus), ouvir e observar aves como o flamingo
(Phoenicopterus ruber), o galeirão (Fulica atra) e espécies em perigo como a Camão/
galinha-sultana (Porphyrio porphyrio) e a Andorinha-do-mar-anã/ Chilreta (Srerna
albifrons).

We keep on pedalling to the mud beaches in an attempt to find a peculiar
inhabitant, the fiddler crab (Uca tangeri).
And there it is… the Hotel Quinta do Lago Country Club!
Seguimos a pedalar rumo às praias de lodo na tentativa de aí encontrar um habitante
peculiar, o caranguejo-violinista (Uca tangeri).
