equipments so as to promote a high level of quality.
2. Optimization of electrical installations focusing in the increase of the transport
capacity and the reduction in the losses in the lines and cables due to the Joule
effect.
3. Optimization of installations for water distribution while focusing in the decrease
of losses along the buried pipes with control of pressure and of water flow, whilst
considering the power demands, contractual values and legal tariffs.
4. Optimization of the burning process in thermal boilers utilized in central heating
systems with the control of the propane gas flow, having in consideration a smaller
gas consume and a highest transfer of the heat produced by the gas combustion.

the topic: “Compensação da Energia Reactiva nas Redes de Média/Alta Tensão”.
3. Training period at the IETR - Institut d’Électronique et de Télécommunications
de Rennes I (www.ietr.org), in France, in the area of Plasma RF Modulation. This
work was included in a Lusitanian-French pedagogic-scientific collaboration
project, between IST and IETR.
4. Research scholarship sponsored by Instituto de Telecomunicações (www.it.pt), in
the area of project, design and test of functional blocks for Power Integrated
Circuits fabricated in 0,35 µm CMOS technology, for portable applications
powered by battery, in the framework of the project “Mask Configurable
