all of the above.
Allie is the ultimateteam leader;sheleadsby examplealwaysplaying at l00Yu Allie is
the player that you want on your team in a crucial game.Shewill dive in the hole or up
the middle to stop a basehit, shewill takethe exta basewhenthe opportunityis there,
and shefinds a way to get on baseto starta rally.
I haveseenAllie play shortstopand comeup with balls that screambasehit whenthey
comeoffthe batosometimesI am in aweof her range.
Allie is alsoextremelycoachable.Last seasonour high schoolteamneededa
centerfielderand,dueto Allie's quickness,shewasthe logical choice.With a greatwork
ethic, Allie becameAll-League her first year in the outfield. Allie took her greatestasseto
which is readingthe ball offthe baL andusedthatto get ajump onthe ball that I haven't
seenin years.Shecatchesballs in the gapsthat shouldbe doublesor triples. This not only
brings adrenalineto our teanr"it deflatesany momentumthat the otherteamis building.
Allie is working hard at slappinglefttrandedandher averagefor the last half of the season
was 402. This makesAllie extremelyvaluableto our teamasa lead-offperson.Whenshe
is on base,shecauseshavocby stealingsecondor going from ltt to 3d on a bunt or a
single. Shereadswherethe defenseis aheadof time so sheknows if shecantakethe
extra baseas soonasthe ball is hit
Allie's stongest gift (and it is a gift) is the mentalpart of her game.Sheseeswhat is
going to happenbeforethe play begins.Sheis alwayslooking for and finds a little
sorrrethingto give herselfand our teaman edge.Allie works with the underclassmen
alwaysexplainingsituationsand correctingfundamentals.
