The Manuel Teixeira Gomes High School
(ESMTG) is located in the south of Portugal
in an area that we call Algarve. Our school
has approximately 925 students incorporated
in 42 classes. ESMTG offers a big diversity
of
courses
which range
from vocational training in areas like childcare,
computing or renewable energies for students
that don’t want to go further with their studies to
scientific
and
humanistic courses aimed at students with a
more academic profile, who wish to pursue
university
studies.
ESMTG also offers
extra-curricular
activities such as sports and drama club and this
last activity is very well known in our city for the
excellent work of actors which has brought them
many awards throughout the years of its existence.

comprehension skills.
The town beaches are very popular among the citizens and tourists, but
especially among teenagers. And we have one of the most beautiful beaches of
Europe called “Praia da Rocha”.
When visualizing the city there are lots of places we can remember such as the
Arade river, the “Rua das Lojas”, the old Bridge, the museum, the theatre
“TEMPO”, the “Parque da Juventude” but specially the beaches, the shopping
mall “Aqua”, the fishing villages of Alvor and Praia da Rocha’s nightlife where
teenagers and young adults like to go out mostly on Saturdays.
