Digest submissions 1 March 2012 The PCIM event in São Paulo, Brazil is following the success of PCIM Europe and PCIM Asia, which are taking place annually in Nuremberg (Germany) and Shanghai (China). The South American region and especially Brazil are experiencing a strong economic growth. The power electronics industry benefits from this growth and the demand for the products they produce. In order to meet the considerable need for information, PCIM South America, which is an application oriented conference with exhibition, has been launched as a communication platform for experts of the industry and academia. From latest developments of power semiconductors, passive components, products for thermal management, new materials, sensors as well as servo-technology and the wide area of power quality and energy-management – PCIM offers a comprehensive, focused and compact presentation under one roof! The international conference provides the ideal opportunity for dialogue and exchange between research, product development and application. The exhibition, which takes place parallel to the conference, enables the delegate to get in contact directly with the industry actors. Take the chance to showcase your work and hold your presentation in an oral, a poster or a tutorial session, at PCIM South America 2012! Digests focused on specific industrial needs and developments are specially welcome as the event targets are the interaction between research, development and innovation. Be part of this community from 11 – 13 September 2012 and submit us your digest! PCIM Awards Selection process The papers for both awards will first be nominated upon the submitted digest. Afterwards the winners will be selected definite upon the the submitted final paper by the conference board members. The papers of the winners will be highlighted in the proceedings. Best Paper Award All papers are eligible for the Best Paper Award nomination and the Best Paper Award will be granted at the PCIM South America 2012 Conference. The prize is of 500 Euro, including the Award and a certificate, as well as the participation (additionally flight and accommodation) at PCIM Europe 2013 Conference in Nuremberg. Criteria – being able to present the paper – originality and topicality Young Engineer Award The Young Engineer Award will be granted to the best paper in this category at the PCIM South America 2012 Conference. The prize is of 500 Euro including the Award and a certificate. Authors will have the opportunity to present their posters during special poster sessions. All submitted digests will be reviewed by the Advisory Board to ensure a high-quality conference. Submitted digests may be selected for oral or poster presentation. Notification about acceptance is in end of April 2012. Submission of the full manuscript is due in mid of June 2012. The applicability of the presented solution is critical for the selection of the paper. Online submission of papers Tutorial presentations The digest should be submitted at www.pcim-southamerica.com as pdf-file and should comprise 2–3 pages. Deadline for submissions: 1 March 2012 Experts will have furthermore the chance to hold a half day tutorial presentation. Details will follow on the website.
