Resurrection Sunday: Na Keiki
Quick like an Easter Bunny at
Annual Lions’ Egg Hunt
Molokai na keiki made quick work of the 1,400 eggs “hidden” around the
Kaunakakai Soccer Field last Saturday morning. Plain white
eggs on Thursday were magically transformed by the Easter
Bunny’s helpers (Lions and Molokai High Leos). The colorful eggs were set out around the field Saturday morning.
By eight forty-five, entries for the the Easter Bonnet and
Easter Egg Decorations contest were closed and the count
down to the Egg Hunt began with Lioness Johnette Spencer
keeping the eager crowd calm. Between 9am sharp and 9:15,
eager keiki found all, including three golden eggs.
Golden Eggs were found by 3 year old Lanakila , 6 year
old Jasmyn and 11 year old Leilani. Egg Decoration winners: 1-6 age group: (1st) Jesmyn Namauu, (2nd) Keaa Davis and (3rd)Luika Pelekane.
7-12 age group: (1st) Precious Quiniones; (2nd) Aliya Kaai (3rd) Kealoha Helm. Easter
Bonnet: (1st) Jasmyn Namauu; (2nd) Champagne Kaai; (3rd) Nicole Makekau. Easter
Basket: (1st) Cassidy Puaa; (2nd) Joy Kealoha (3rd) Crystal Nakihei
The Molokai Easter Egg Hunt chairperson Linda Mina was pleased at the turnout,
despite the cool, windy weather and the rainy Good Friday.
[Resurrection Sunday is the day Christians celebrate that Jesus Christ rose from the
grave, defeating death, and thereby proving that he is the Son of God on earth, for the
specific purpose to suffer and die on the cross for the evils perpetrated by Mankind,
thereby giving each person a choice to decide to accept Jesus Christ as our personal saviour, choose between good and evil, repent, and have everlasting life with God, or to
continue the evil behavior that leads to more suffering and death.—MAN]
Maybelline and Adam Rodrigues
First Anniversary and Birthday Celebration
Maybelline Galano and Adam Rodrigues were married just one year ago. On
Monday, March 21, 2005 the couple celebrated their first anniversary and Adam’s birthday at the Kualapuu Cookhouse. Friends and family enjoyed dinner and fellowship celebrating the special occasion. Maybelline’s sons Federico and Tom, her father Thomas
Awai, Sr. and daughter-in-law Lillian also joined the party.
Best wishes for many happy years together to Adam and Maybelline!
Gabriel Keys is arrested by police officers in Pinellas Park, Florida, March 23,
2005. The young protester attempted to take
a glass of water into the Woodside Hospice
for the brain-damaged Terri Schiavo. A federal judge rejected a request from the parents
of Schiavo to order her feeding tube reinserted to prolong her life.
Is arresting kids who try to save a life
what our Tax Dollars is for? Is this display
of Police State power the kind of government that our soldiers are dying for in Iraq?
No, this is the POLICE STATE OF AMERICA in action.
40 years ago the Schindler family would
have walked in that hospice and taken Terri
home. This is all about showing America
that the government "controls" everything now. Doesn't matter of it is about life or
death. The government does not care about life, just power.
The juges have denied appeals for stay in her execution in contrast to the stays of
execution granted to convicted murderers enabeling them to hang on for years if not forever. The judges have wrapped themselves in the cloak of their unrelenting dedication
to the pursuit and administration of the law, and disrespect the rights of mother/father.
Eight people were arrested outside the hospice yesterday when they tried to bring
Mrs Schiavo food and water: two 13-year-old twin girls and Joshua Heldreth, a 10year-old boy from North Carolina, who said he just did not want Mrs Schiavo to die.
He said he was not afraid because he knew God was with him. When a police officer asked the boy if he would leave, he shook his head and said: "No." His father, Scott
Heldreth, said: "He's a child of God and he does not understand why Terri Schiavo cannot have water."
Amid the pitched legal battle over Terri Schiavo that has been fought through his
court, Pinellas County Circuit Judge George Greer has been under the protection of
armed guards, and friends say his family also is protected. Death threats have been
made against him for allowing Michael Schiavo to remove the feeding tube that has kept
his 41-year-old wife alive. [Seems the judiciary of the government that has overthrown
America from within, creating the POLICE STATE OF AMERICA, is getting nervous.]
The "Unintended Consequences" of their actions are coming back at them.
Law agencies controlled by Florida Governor Jeb Bush, the brother of US
President George Bush, were on their way to seize Terri Schiavo and have her feeding
tube reinserted. But they backed off when local police said they would enforce a judge's
ruling allowing the brain-damaged women to die, The Miami Herald has revealed.
"We told them that unless they had the judge with them when they came, they were
not going to get in," a source with the local police told the paper.
Her father Bob Schindler, who has been leading the legal battle to keep his daughter alive on life support, said: "Terri's weakening; she's down to her last hours."
Congress and the Bush administration could still save Terri Schiavo – if they would
simply enforce legal subpoenas that were issued demanding that Congress be allowed
to interview Terri and others regarding alleged domestic abuse.
The subpoenas
required Schiavo's doctors to maintain a key piece of evidence - the medical equipment
keeping her alive "in its current and continuing state of operations."
Those Congressional subpoenas have been ignored by a Florida state judge and
local authorities. Despite Congressional subpoenas hanging over the case, the Judge
moved to put Terri Schiavo to death and ordered her feeding tube removed. But experts
say they could still be enforced by federal marshals if the U.S. J.D. would enforce it.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., ominously reminded all parties that it
is a federal crime for anyone to interfere with a person's testimony before Congress.
(Allowing the chief witness, Terri Schiavo, to starve to death would, of course, be the
most profound form of interference.) "No little judge sitting in a state district court in
Florida is going to usurp the authority of Congress," DeLay said.
He continued: "More specifically the law protects a witness from anyone who - by
threats, force, or by any threatening letter or communication - influences, obstructs, or
impedes an inquiry or investigation by Congress. Anyone who violates this law is subject to criminal fines and imprisonment."
According to the rules, in order to be convicted of contempt of Congress, the congressional committee subject to the contempt first must report a resolution that the
affected individual is guilty of contempt. This takes a majority vote of the committee.
The full House or Senate then must approve the resolution, which sends the matter to a
federal attorney, who may call a grand jury to decide whether to indict the affected individual, and prosecute - if the grand jury returns an indictment.
Some demonstrators say the Schiavo Case us already Adjudicated by higher authority. GOD has already judged the situation in Florida and those who had anything to do
with depriving Terri Schiavo of food and water, or had the means to do good in this situation and did not do it Jesus said, ". . . Then He will also say to those on the left hand,
'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his
angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no
drink; . . . Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry
or thirsty . . . and did not minister to You?' Then He will answer them, saying,
'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you
did not do it to Me.' And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Matthew 25: 41,42, 45, 46. . . . Therefore, to him who knows
to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4: 17.
