$15, 364.00 from 131 parishioners representing 18.85 %
of our total number of registered families in our parish.
We need the support of all of our parish families to reach

RCIA
RCIA is for all people and faith backgrounds who are
curious and interested about the Catholic Church, and have
at some level considered joining. For example, someone
who is baptized Catholic, but never received any other
sacrament; someone who was baptized in a different faith
or church, or someone who was never baptized at all and
beginning their faith journey.
Classes begin in the rectory on Tuesday,
September 13, 2016 at 7:00pm. Please call Sister Moira
at 610-866-1121 ext. 12. You can register for classes,
ask questions, or gather more information.

Religious Education
It is time for adults and children to start
preparing for the Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults and Children’s Religious Education!
The summer is quickly fading and the start of
these two important formation programs on
September 10th and 11th will be here before you
know it! Sr. Moira will be away until

August 25th, but you can prepare
the weekend of August 27th-28th and onward.

RCIA e Ensino Religioso
das Crianças
É tempo para os adultos e crianças começarem a
preparar para o Rito de Iniciação Cristã de Adultos e
Ensino Religioso das Crianças! O verão está
desaparecendo rapidamente e o início destes dois
programas de formação importantes que comecam
nos dias 10 e 11 de Setembro!
Sr Moira nao esta disponivel até 25 de Agosto, mas
vocês podem-se preparar para se inscrever no fim de
semana de 27-28 de Agosto em diante. Não espere!
Senhor, é verdade que são poucos os
que se salvam?
Hoje, o Evangelho situa-nos diante o tema da salvação das
almas. Esse é o núcleo da mensagem de Cristo e a “lei
suprema da Igreja” (assim o afirma o Código de Direito
Canônico). A salvação da alma é uma realidade enquanto é
um dom de Deus, mas para quem ainda não tem
ultrapassado os limites da morte é apenas uma possibilidade.
Salvar-nos ou condenar-nos, ou seja, aceitar ou rejeitar a
oferta do amor de Deus pela eternidade toda.
Santo Agostinho dizia que «se tornou digno dum mal eterno
aquele que em si destruiu um bem que poderia ser eterno».
Nesta vida existem apenas duas possibilidades: com Deus ou,
a nada, porque sem Ele nada tem sentido. Desse jeito, vida,
morte, alegria, dor, amor, etc. são conceitos que não tem
lógica quando não participam do ser de Deus. Quando o
homem peca, esquiva o olhar do Criador e centra o seu olhar em si mesmo. Deus olha incessantemente com
amor o pecador e, para não forçar sua liberdade, espera um mínimo gesto de vontade de retorno.
«Senhor é verdade que são poucos os que se salvam?» (Lc 13,23). Cristo, não responde à pergunta. Então a
pergunta fica sem resposta, e também hoje, pois «é um mistério inescrutável entre a santidade de Deus e a
consciência do homem. O silêncio da “Igreja é, pois, a única posição do cristão» (João Paulo II). A Igreja não
fala sobre os que habitam o inferno, mas —baseando-se nas palavras de Jesus Cristo— fala sobre sua
existência e sobre o fato de que haverá condenados no juízo final. E todo aquele que negar isso, seja clérigo
ou laico, incorre em heresia.
Somos livres para tornar o olhar com nossa alma ao Salvador e, também somos livres para obstinar-nos na sua
rejeição. A morte petrificará essa opção pela eternidade toda...

RICA está abierta para todos los miembros de la parroquia
o personas de otra fe que están interesadas en la Iglesia
Católica, y que han considerado unirse a la fe Católica.
Puede participar alguien que es bautizado Católico, pero
nunca recibió ningún otro sacramento; alguien que fue
bautizado en otra fe o iglesia, alguien que nunca fue
bautizado y que comienza su camino de fe, o simplemente
alguien que quiere profundizar en la fe.
