YARD SALE
Holy Infancy's Parish yard sale will be held
on, Saturday, October 15th, from 8:30 am to
3:30 pm, at Holy Infancy School Hall. Besides
all the items that we are having for sale, you can also
enjoy the delicious food that we will be selling.* PLEASE
DO NOT BRING YARD SALE ITEMS TO THE
RECTORY. FOR NOW WE HAVE ENOUGH ITEMS FOR
ONE YARD SALE. * If you have not been able to see the
renovation that was done at the school hall, please stop by
on the 15th of October and take a look. For more

HOLY INFANCY’S MUSIC PROGRAM
Holy Infancy's 5:15 PM Music Program returns on
September 10th through January 7th, 2017 to complete
it's first season. Kathy Anthony, organist/vocalist, along
with other song leading members, will return to enhance
the liturgical celebration at the 5:15pm mass.
If you would like to be a part of our song leading team
kindly contact Fr. Andy or speak with Kathy after the
5:15pm Mass. If you have any interest, in any fashion, of
supporting our music ministry, financially or otherwise here
at Holy Infancy, please do not hesitate to contact Fr. Andy.
Holy Infancy can always use the help in maintaining the
sound system and music program.
RCIA
RCIA is for all people and faith backgrounds who are
curious and interested about the Catholic Church, and have
at some level considered joining. For example, someone
who is baptized Catholic, but never received any other
sacrament; someone who was baptized in a different faith
or church, or someone who was never baptized at all and
beginning their faith journey. Classes begin in the rectory
on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 7:00pm. Please call

for classes, ask questions, or gather more information.
ANNUAL DIOCESAN
ANNIVERSARY MASS
The Annual Diocesan Anniversary Mass
Celebration will be held on Sunday, September 18,
2016, at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena,
1875 West Turner St., Allentown, PA 18104. Bishop
John Barres will begin the celebration at 3:00 PM.
We cordially invite couples celebrating five,
twenty-five, forty, fifty, sixty or sixty plus years of
marriage to this special event. Please register online

AUDITIONS AT BETHLEHEM
CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
Bethlehem Catholic Youth Theater will hold auditions
for "Arrest These Merry Gentlemen," a
Christmas-themed Musical caper. Students from all
schools in grade levels 3-8 are welcome to
audition any time between 1-5 pm on
Sunday, September 11, 2016, in the BeCa
Auditorium. Students should prepare a 1-minute
monologue contact [email protected] for
a list of approved monologues, and one verse from
either Joy to the World, Silent Night, or The First
Noel. Students need to be available for Sunday
afternoon rehearsals and the show
performances: December 2 at 7 PM and
December 4, 2016 @ 2PM.

Qualquer um de vós, se não renunciar a tudo o que tem,
não pode ser meu discípulo!
Hoje, Jesus indica-nos o lugar que deve ocupar o próximo na nossa hierarquia de amor e
fala-nos sobre o seguimento a sua pessoa, que é o que deve caracterizar a vida cristã, um
itinerário que transcorre por diferentes períodos no qual acompanhamos Jesus Cristo com
nossa cruz: «Quem não carrega sua cruz e não caminha após mim, não pode
ser meu discípulo» (Lc 14,27).
Entra Jesus em conflito com a Lei de Deus, que nos ordena honrar os nossos pais e amar ao
próximo, quando diz: «Se alguém vem a mim, mas não me prefere a seu pai e sua mãe, sua
mulher e seus filhos, seus irmãos e suas irmãs, e até à sua própria vida, não pode ser meu discípulo?» (Lc 14,26)
Naturalmente que não. Jesus Cristo disse que não veio para derrogar a Lei, mas para levá-la a sua plenitude; por isso
Ele lhe dá a interpretação justa. Ao exigir um amor incondicional, próprio de Deus, declara que Ele é Deus, que devemos
amá-lo sobre todas as coisas e que devemos ordená-lo em seu amor. Em nosso amor a Deus, que leva-nos a entregar-nos
confiadamente a Jesus Cristo, amaremos ao próximo com um amor sincero e justo. Diz Santo Agostinho: «Te arrasta o afã
pela verdade de Deus e de perceber sua vontade nas Santas Escrituras».
A vida cristã é uma constante viagem com Jesus. Hoje, muitos acreditam, teoricamente, ser cristãos, mas não viajam com
Jesus: ficam no ponto de partida e não começam o caminho, ou o abandonam em seguida, ou fazem outra viagem com
outros parceiros. A bagagem para viajar nesta vida com Jesus é a Cruz, cada um com a sua; mas junto à porção de dor
que corresponde aos seguidores de Cristo, inclui-se também, o consolo com o qual Deus conforta suas testemunhas em
qualquer classe de prova. Deus é a nossa esperança e nele está a fonte de vida.

salao da escola. Para além de todas as coisas que estao a venda, vocês também pode desfrutar da

DIOCESANA DE LA MISA
DE ANIVERSARIO
La Celebración Anual Diocesana de la
Misa de Aniversario se celebrará el Domingo, 18 de
septiembre 2016 en la Catedral de Santa Catalina
de Siena, 1875 West Turner St., Allentown, PA

comenzará la celebración a las 3:00 PM.
