na passada sexta-feira, 28 de Maio, para
anunciar o reforço das autoridades com
novos equipamentos tecnológicos. O projecto
«Algarve Seguro» implica que 225 veículos
das forças de segurança - GNR e PSP passem a ser seguidas em permanência por
um sistema de georeferenciação. Assim, será
em breve possível saber com exactidão onde
está cada viatura policial para responder mais
rapidamente a qualquer problema. Outra
medida é a ligação de alarmes privados às
forças policiais para a recepção de pedidos
de auxílio. Já no segundo semestre do ano,
vão ser instaladas câmaras de vigilância fixas
e móveis em lugares estratégicos da região,
para detectar matrículas falsas e veículos
roubados. Recorde-se que Rui Pereira esteve
em Tavira, em Janeiro último, na sequência da
onda de assaltos violentos e insegurança. Este
projecto nasce da contribuição de autarcas,
forças de segurança, empresas privadas de
comunicações e seguros, e também das
comunidades estrangeiras e membros do
corpo diplomático no Algarve.

Administration, was at Faro’s Civil Government
HQ last Friday (28th May), to announce the
introduction of new state-funded crime-fighting
technology for the Algarve. The initiative,
dubbed «Algarve Seguro», involves 225
police vehicles – both GNR and PSP – being
permanently tracked by a sophisticated type of
GPS system. This way, it will soon be possible
to know exactly where each vehicle is, so that
quick response to any problems will be much
more effective. Another new safety measure
is the connection of private property alarms
to police stations – again in order to receive
up-to-the-minute calls for help. Elsewhere,
CCTV cameras, both fixed and mobile, are
to be installed in a number of strategic sites
throughout the region – in order to detect false
licence plates and stolen vehicles. Rui Pereira
was in Tavira last January following a spate of
violent robberies and ensuing alarm across the
Algarve. This new initiative has the support of
council chiefs, security forces, private security/
communication and insurance companies, as
well as the Algarve’ foreign communities and
members of the region’s diplomatic corps.

am vergangenen Freitag, 28. Mai, im
Regierungspräsidium in Faro, um die
Verstärkung durch neue technologische
Ausrüstungen bekannt zu geben. Das Projekt
«Algarve Seguro» umfasst, dass 225 Wagen
der Sicherheitskräfte - GNR und PSP - zu
jeder Zeit durch ein Ortungssystem verfolgt
werden. Ein weiterer Schritt ist die Verbindung
der Notrufe durch private Alarmanlagen mit
den Polizeikräften. In der zweiten Jahreshälfte
werden an strategischen Punkten der Region
feste und mobile Überwachungskameras
installiert, um falsche Nummernschilder und
gestohlene Fahrzeuge auszumachen. Rui
Pereira war bereits im letzten Januar nach
einer Welle von gewaltsamen Raubüberfällen
und der daraus hervorgehenden großen
Verunsicherung in Tavira. Dieses Projekt
entsteht aus der Zusammenarbeit der
Gemeinden mit den Sicherheitskräften, privaten
Sicherheitsdiensten,
öffentlichen
Stellen
und Versicherungen, sowie ausländischen
Gemeinschaften
und
Mitgliedern
des
diplomatischen Korps an der Algarve.

O Turismo do Algarve quer que você procure nos
seus álbuns de família, fotografias tiradas na região
antes de 1970. Cenas do quotidiano, monumentos,
recordações de viagens, pessoas, festas e romarias,
todos os temas servem. É um novo passatempo que
começou dia 1 de Junho e que se prolonga até 31
de Agosto. Chama-se «Algarve Vintage – Desafio
Fotográfico». Destina-se a incentivar o envolvimento do
público em geral com a região e tem como prémios
a oferta de fins-de-semana em unidades de luxo.

uma espécie de galeria virtual que reunirá o material
dos participantes. Os interessados – portugueses e
estrangeiros, residentes em Portugal – apenas têm de
enviar fotografias originais com mais de 40 anos para
o e-mail [email protected]. Serão
seleccionadas 40 imagens para irem à final, da qual,
um júri escolherá as três melhores. Os vencedores
serão anunciados a 27 de Setembro.
“Turismo do Algarve” wants everybody to hunt
through family albums and look out photos taken
in the region before 1970. Everyday scenes,
monuments, holiday snaps, little “memories” of
people, parties and festivals – all will do. It’s a
new challenge launched on 1st June and lasting
until 31st August, and it’s called «Algarve Vintage
– Desafio Fotográfico». The idea is to encourage
involvement of the public in general with the
region, and prizes include weekend stays in 5-star
establishments. The rules of the contest are fully
available on http://blog.turismodoalgarve.pt - and
the space itself will act as a kind of virtual gallery to
collect all participatory material. Anyone interested
– Portuguese, or foreign residents – simply has to
email scans of their original photos (all over 40
years old) to [email protected].
Forty images will eventually be selected to qualify
for the final, and a jury will then choose the three
they consider to be the best. Winners of the contest
will be announced on 27th September.
Die Tourismusbehörde der Algarve möchte, dass
Sie in Ihren alten Familienalben Fotografien suchen,
die vor 1970 in der Algarve aufgenommen wurden.
Szenen des Alltags, Denkmäler, Reiseerinnerungen,
Menschen, Feste - alle Themen finden Verwendung.
Diese neue Aktion, die am 1. Juni begonnen hat und
bis zum 31. August läuft, nennt sich «Algarve Vintage
– Desafio Fotográfico». Dabei soll die allgemeine
Öffentlichkeit angesprochen werden, sich mit der
Region auseinanderzusetzen. Als Preise winken zum
Beispiel ein Wochenende in einem Fünf-Sterne-Hotel.
Die vollständigen Teilnahmebedingungen sind auf
http://blog.turismodoalgarve.pt abrufbar. Diese Seite
wird dann auch zu einer Art virtueller Galerie, wo das
Material der Teilnehmer zusammengebracht wird. Alle
Interessierten - ob Portugiesen oder Ausländer - sollten
Fotos, die älter als 40 Jahre sind, an die E-Mail-Adresse
[email protected] turismodoalgarve.pt. schicken.
Es werden 40 Bilder für die Endrunde ausgewählt, aus
denen eine Jury die drei besten bestimmen wird. Die
Gewinner werden am 27. September bekannt gegeben.

A «Quinta dos Vales» vai abrir uma exposição
permanente de “Vinho e Arte”, com escultura
e design de jardins em Porches. O novo espaço
vai ficar instalado junto à nova rotunda na
EN125, com uma área de cerca de 500 metros
quadrados. A exposição abre às 09h30, no
Sábado, dia 26 de Junho e as visitas serão
gratuitas. Recorde-se que esta adega dinamizou
recentemente um projecto artístico chamado
«Dança dos Ursos», em que cada escultura
original na forma foi trabalhada por um artista
do Algarve. Agora, cerca de 20 ursos e outras
esculturas vão estar em exposição permanente
no golfe Benamor, em Tavira, até ao final do
Verão de 2010. A «Quinta dos Vales» recebeu
nas últimas semanas várias medalhas e prémios
internacionais com os vinhos Grace Vineyard
tinto 2007; Grace Vineyard branco 2009;
Grace Touriga Nacional tinto 2008 e Primeira
Selecção branco 2009. É um grande sucesso,
considerando apenas 3 anos de produção desde
2007. Desde então, foram produzidos 11 vinhos
que já conquistaram 22 medalhas e prémios
internacionais em 2009/10. Anibal Coutinho,
crítico de vinhos de renome, distinguiu também
três dos vinhos da «Quinta dos Vales» na sua
lista dos melhores 285 vinhos de Portugal.
«Quinta dos Vales» is to open a new permanent
exhibition of “Vinho e Arte” (Wine and Art), also
featuring sculpture and garden design, in Porches.
The new space is alongside the new EN125
roundabout, with an area of around 500 square
metres. The exhibition will open on Saturday
26th June at 9.30am, and admission is free.
«Quinta dos Vales» is the winery that not longago launched the arts project «Dança dos Ursos»
(Dance of the Bears), where each bear sculpture
was painted by a different Algarve-based artist.
Around 20 of the bears and other sculptures
are now on permanent exhibition at Tavira’s
Benamor golf resort until the end of the summer.
Meantime, Quinta dos Vales has received various
prizes and international awards for their “Grace
Vineyard” wines: the 2007 red, the 2009 white,
the “Grace Touriga Nacional” red of 2008, and
the “Primeira Selecção” white from 2009. The
awards are a huge feather in the cap for a vineyard
that only went into commercial production three
years ago. Since opening for business, the winery
has produced 11 wines that have already won 22
medals and international prizes for 2009/ 10.
International wine critic Aníbal Coutinho has also
chosen three of Quinta dos Vales’ wines for his list
of the 285 best wines in Portugal.
Die «Quinta dos Vales» wird eine Dauerausstellung
namens “Vinho e Arte” mit Skulpturen und
Gartendesign in Porches einrichten. Die neue
Fläche liegt nahe des neuen Kreisverkehrs an der
EN125 und nimmt 500 Quadratmeter ein. Die
Ausstellung öffnet am Samstag, 26. Juni, um
9:30 Uhr, und der Eintritt ist frei. Übrigens hatte
dieses Weingut erst kürzlich das Kunstprojekt
namens «Dança dos Ursos» ins Leben gerufen, bei
dem all die unterschiedlichen Bären-Skulpturen
von Künstlern der Algarve gestaltet wurden. Nun
werden etwa 20 der Bären und weitere Skulpturen
bis Ende diesen Sommers auf dem Golfgelände
Benamor in Tavira aufgestellt. Die «Quinta dos
Vales» erhielt in den letzten Wochen diverse
Medaillen und internationale Auszeichnungen
für die Weine Grace Vineyard Tinto 2007; Grace
Vineyard Branco 2009; Grace Touriga Nacional
Tinto 2008 und Primeira Selecção Branco 2009.
Ein großer Erfolg, wenn man bedenkt, dass erst
seit drei Jahren, seit 2007, produziert wird.
Seitdem produzierte das Weingut 11 Weine, die
2009/10 bereits 22 Medaillen und internationale
Auszeichnungen
gewonnen
haben.
Aníbal
Coutinho, renommierter Weinkritiker, nahm auch
drei Weine der Quinta in seine Liste der 285
besten Weine aus Portugal auf.
