ERNST MEHLER -
1900/1965
Ernst Mehler, meu avô paterno, nascido em 18 de fevereiro de 1900 na cidade de Krásná, Tchecoslováquia,
abandonou a cidade de Frankfurt em 1933 logo após o partido nazista assumir o comando na Alemanha e deixou
para trás o restaurante da família, chamado CAFÉ ET PATISSERIE ADOLF GOLDBERG, nome de meu bisavô
paterno, na Leipziger Straße 26. Veio com esposa (Martha Mehler), filho (Alfred Mehler) e sogro (Adolf
Goldberg) para o Rio de Janeiro, chegando aqui em 1934. Em 1935 fundou o RESTAURANTE ERNESTO na Rua
Teófilo Otoni 94, passando depois pela Rua Miguel Couto 37, Rua Buenos Aires 84, Rua do Rosário 172, e desde 28
de outubro de 1993, está estabelecido aqui no Largo da Lapa, 41- Lapa - RJ.
My grandfather, Ernst Mehler, was Born on February 18, 1900 in the town of Kr ásná, Czechoslovakia. He left the
city of Frankfurt in 1933, shortly after the Nazi party took the lead in Germany leaving behind the family’s
restaurant, called COFFEE ET PATISSERIE ADOLF GOLDBERG. Situated at Lipziger Straße, 26, it was named
after my paternal great-grandfather Who came to Rio de Janeiro in 1934 with his wife (Martha Mehler), son
(Alfred Mehler) and father-in-law (Adolf Goldberg). In 1935 he founded the ERNESTO RESTAURANT, in Rua
Teófilo Otoni, number 94, He later moved to Rua Miguel Couto, 37, then to Rua Buenos Aires, number 84 and
finaly to Rua do Rosário, 172. Since October 28, 1993, it has been here in Largo da Lapa, 41 – Lapa – Rio de
Janeiro.
