St. Patrick’s Day ou o feriado de São Patrício é uma tradicional festa irlandesa
comemorada 17 de março. A data é celebrada em todos os países de língua inglesa,
onde as pessoas se vestem de verde e aderem ao trevo como amuleto da sorte.
A data é uma homenagem ao Santo Padroeiro da Igreja Católica na Irlanda, que tinha
como missão pregar o cristianismo na região.
O folclore irlandês conta que Patríck’s utilizava o trevo de três folhas para representar
a Santíssima Trindade, doutrina que professa a Deus em três pessoas distintas: Pai,
Filho e Espírito Santo.
Se pudesse montar um paralelo, o St. Patrick’s Day está para os países de língua
inglesa, assim como o Carnaval para o Brasil e a Oktoberfest para a Alemanha.

St. Patrick´s Day Holiday is a traditional Irish party celebrated on March 17th. This date
is celebrated in all the English Language countries, where the people dress in green
and wear the three leave clover like an amulet.
This date is an honor to the Patron Saint in Catholic Church in Ireland, who had the
mission to establish the Christianity in that region.
The Irish folklore says Patrick´s wore the three leave clover to represent the Holy
Trinity, doctrine which professes God into three different people: Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
If it was possible to set a parallel, St. Patrick´s Day is to the countries of English
Language, as the Carnival is to Brazil and the Oktoberfest is to Germany.
