The Foundation is made up of volunteer parents, teachers and administrator’s whose goal is to raise funds for Canyon View Elementary School. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization (Tax ID#20-4408811). Inside · Your Support Funds the Foundation! · Where does the money go? · Volunteers needed · We are going green · This year’s wins! · Making the Most out of your Donation Our Current focus encompasses Math (ALEKS licensing, Compass Learning Software, etc.) and Technology (Ipads for the classroom and the Computer Resource Assistant or CRA). We also provide support to other school needs as they arise within the year. This school year, we were able to help fund the Reading Impact for Teachers program. In addition to the current programs, we have also been able to provide funding for supplies for our Science Lab. WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? READING IMPACT TEACHERS COMPUTER RESOURCE ASSISTANT (CRA) SOFTWARE LICENSING: ALEKS SCIENCE LAB 2 FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES In order to raise the funds needed to support our school, the Foundation organizes 4 major fundraising events during the school year. They are listed with last year’s accomplishments: 1. JOG-A-THON: This year's Annual Jog-a-thon is coming up! On Friday, October 19th, 2012 you're welcome to join the kids in the lower fields as they run/jog through our recently refurbished running track. Expect to see Jog-a-thon envelopes on October 10-12! 2. RUMMAGE SALE: This year's Rummage Sale will be on February 2nd, 2013. Donations of gently used items, and working electronics will be accepted the week of 1/28-2/5/13. All donations are tax deductible, and a receipt can be provided upon request. 3. SILENT and LIVE AUCTIONS NOW AT THE COYOTE ROUND UP! The Silent Auction will now be at the Coyote Round-up on April 26th, 2013.This is our biggest fundraiser yet, and we hope to do even better this year. 4. DIRECT DONATIONS AND COMPANY MATCHING PROGRAM: Your generous donations are always welcome and will be accepted throughout the year. Please don't forget to check with your company or your spouse's company and see if they match! Just think, a $50 donation can easily turn into $100 if your company matches! We are still in need of volunteers who have experience or are willing to train for the following positions: Volunteers Chair Silent Auction Chair Rummage Sale Chair Grant Writer We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible. Starting this year, Canyon View Elementary School, Canyon View Foundation and PTA are going green! Flyers and handouts are no. Information can now be seen via https://peachjar.com By doing this we will not only help the Environment but save the school money by eliminating paper costs, ink, and the wear and tear on printing equipment. Also, 20% of all advertising revenue from the community will go to our school. It will now be easier for you to see all flyers/handouts that are given to your child! No more lost handouts! No more misplaced flyers! Just go to the website and see what’s happening at your school. THIS YEAR’S WINS! COMPUTER RESOURCE ASSISTANT (CRA): $ 9000 Every year, we aim to provide a CRA for our school. Our CRA maintains and trouble shoots computer problems in our computer lab. She also assists the Kindergarten and 1st grade classes during their computer lab classes. READING IMPACT TEACHERS: $ 7000 The Reading Impact program consists of Accredited Teachers who are hired to help struggling students be better reader. ALEKS SOFTWARE LICENSES: $900 ALEKS is a research-based online math program for our 3rd5th-grade student that uses individualized assessment to deliver a personalized learning path that will greatly help reinforce the lessons taught in class. SCIENCE LAB SUPPLIES: $500 One of our primary goals is to make advances in Science education.
