Making the Most out of
your Donation
Our Current focus encompasses Math (ALEKS licensing,
Compass Learning Software, etc.) and Technology (Ipads
for the classroom and the Computer Resource Assistant
or CRA). We also provide support to other school needs
as they arise within the year. This school year, we were
able to help fund the Reading Impact for Teachers
program.
In addition to the current programs, we have also been
able to provide funding for supplies for our Science Lab.

FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES
In order to raise the funds needed to support our school, the
Foundation organizes 4 major fundraising events during the
school year. They are listed with last year’s accomplishments:
1. JOG-A-THON: This year's Annual Jog-a-thon is coming up! On Friday,
October 19th, 2012 you're welcome to join the kids in the lower
fields as they run/jog through our recently refurbished running
track. Expect to see Jog-a-thon envelopes on October 10-12!
2. RUMMAGE SALE: This year's Rummage Sale will be on February 2nd,
2013. Donations of gently used items, and working electronics will be
accepted the week of 1/28-2/5/13.
All donations are tax deductible, and a receipt can be provided upon
request.
3. SILENT and LIVE AUCTIONS NOW AT THE COYOTE ROUND UP!
The Silent Auction will now be at the Coyote Round-up on April 26th,
2013.This is our biggest fundraiser yet, and we hope to do even better
this year.
4. DIRECT DONATIONS AND COMPANY MATCHING PROGRAM: Your
generous donations are always welcome and will be accepted throughout
the year. Please don't forget to check with your company or your
spouse's company and see if they match! Just think, a $50 donation can
easily turn into $100 if your company matches!

VOLUNTEER’S NEEDED!
The Foundation can’t do our Fundraisers without you and
without these events we can’t fund our much needed
programs.
We are still in need of volunteers who have experience or are
willing to train for the following positions:
Volunteers Chair
Silent Auction Chair
Rummage Sale Chair
Grant Writer
We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible.
Additional volunteers are needed to help with the different
events.
If interested, please e-mail [email protected].
We have gone
Green!
Starting this year, Canyon View
Elementary School, Canyon
View Foundation and PTA are
going green! Flyers and
handouts are no. Information
can now be seen via
https://peachjar.com
By doing this we will not only
help the Environment but save
the school money by
eliminating paper costs, ink,
and the wear and tear on
printing equipment. Also, 20%
of all advertising revenue from
the community will go to our
school. It will now be easier for
you to see all flyers/handouts
that are given to your child! No
more lost handouts! No more
misplaced flyers! Just go to the
website and see what’s
happening at your school.
THIS YEAR’S WINS!
COMPUTER RESOURCE ASSISTANT (CRA): $ 9000
Every year, we aim to provide a CRA for our school. Our
CRA maintains and trouble shoots computer problems in
our computer lab. She also assists the Kindergarten and
1st grade classes during their computer lab classes.
READING IMPACT TEACHERS: $ 7000
The Reading Impact program consists of Accredited
Teachers who are hired to help struggling students be
better reader.
ALEKS SOFTWARE LICENSES: $900
ALEKS is a research-based online math program for our 3rd5th-grade student that uses individualized assessment to
deliver a personalized learning path that will greatly help
reinforce the lessons taught in class.
SCIENCE LAB SUPPLIES: $500
One of our primary goals is to make advances in Science
education. Thus it is important to keep our lab fully
equipped with needed materials for an optimal learning
environment.

COMPANY MATCHING PROGRAM
MAKING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DONATION
Matching Gift Search:
http://www1.matchinggifts.com/canyonviewfoundation/
With matching gifts you can sometimes double or even
triple your gift!
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will
match charitable contributions made by their employees. To
find out if your company matches please go to the matching
gift search link or check with your HR.
If your company matches, you may be able to access the forms
directly through the search. Follow the set procedure, and
Canyon View Foundation will be happy to assist. The impact of
your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies
match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
Examples of Companies that
