Sala 260 Dr Christian Wicke studied at Maastricht University, Bogazici University in Istanbul
(Erasmus), the University of Edinburgh, and the Australian National University in
Canberra. He spent extensive periods of research in Berlin. He is a Research Fellow at
the Institute for Social Movements, Ruhr University Bochum, and a Visiting Fellow at
the ANU Centre for European Studies. He is the author of Helmut Kohl's Quest for
Normality: His Representation of the German Nation and Himself (New York:
Berghahn, 2015) and is currently involved in a research project on the history of
industrial heritage entitled The Ruhr Region: A Global Beacon for Industrial
Heritage (http://isb.rub.de/forschung/drittmittel/industriekultur.html.en).
