W
ith the fourth issue of Vale do
Lobo’s fabulous lifestyle magazine, Living now on the shelves,
every aspect of resort life is enticing
readers both here and far. And it
was certainly cause for celebration
when the magazine was unveiled
in August, toasted in a very special
evening soiree at Parque do Golfe.
An invitational-only occasion that
saw Property Owners, Golf Club
members and special guests join
together in yet another evening of
successful socializing at the resort,
all enveloped in the height of luxury. Following an opening speech
from CEO Diogo Gaspar Ferreira
and a toast to the magazine, the
party began in style. Gourmet can-
apés and an open bar kept guests
refreshed throughout the night,
with sophisticated ‘chill out’ zones
made for perfect chatting with the
fellow members of the community.
For the partygoers, DJ ML Flash
spun the latest tunes on the dance
floor into the early hours. All in all,
another brilliant social occasion at
the resort and a fantastic response

Football fun
Manchester United Soccer Schools
S
ome of Vale do Lobo’s younger
community enjoyed a week of
football fun during this summer.
The brilliant Football by Carlos
Queiroz training camps, featuring the training and principles
of the Manchester United Soccer
Schools, returned to the resort
by popular demand. The weeklong training camps took place
over several weeks and gave children the chance to learn with the
pros and follow in the footsteps of
their football heroes. Not only did
the lucky few make plenty of new
friends and improve their game,
but they also got to take away a
special certificate and of course
the official Manchester United
football kit. Congratulations to all
our budding new stars!

Academy in September and you
might just catch some of the European Veterans working on their
game in The European Seniors
Club Championship.
The tournament brings together
some of the top players on the
Women’s Senior Circuit, from all
over Europe. All of the matches
are open to the public so do call by

title - a perfect day out for tennis
fans and those looking for a spot
of recreation.

João Paramés art exhibition coming up!

he Vale do Lobo Art Gallery is
set to welcome a fantastic new
collection of works by popular
Portuguese artist João Paramés in
October.
Certain to prove a hit with art lovers and those who like plenty of
colour and fun, this latest display
by the artist will showcase a diversity of themes and materials,
including the depiction of animals and objects with human-like
characteristics. Intriguing, masterful and bursting with life, this
is an exhibition that promises to
be noticed! The João Paramés art
exhibition opens on 20th October

It’s been a stylish summer
V
ale do Lobo excels at stylish
summers, and 2011 has been
no exception, with sophisticated
days and glamorous nights playing a key role in resort life. One
popular, albeit more recent fixture, Pop Up Restaurant, returned
for the second time to the resort’s
grounds for another exquisite
evening of outdoor gourmet cuisine and ‘chic’ socializing. An
evening dedicated to the regional
wines and food of Portugal and
prepared by gourmet chefs from
all over the Algarve especially
for the occasion. The result was
a mouthwatering display of welcoming cocktails and canapés, a
five-course dinner with the finest
wines, and of course the magic of
the moment. It was an evening to
be treasured.
Another huge success was the
Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber
Allgarve concert in conjunction
with the Algarve Tourism board
that took place in the resort’s football grounds on a specially erected
stage. The beautiful voice of Sofia
Escobar combined with tenor
John Addison and accompanied
by the Algarve Orchestra made for
spellbinding renditions of some
of the composer’s most famous
pieces from the musicals. Extracts
from ‘Evita’, ‘Cats’ and ‘Phantom
of the Opera’, and many more, all
captivated the audience in what
was a very special occasion for the
resort, and very much music for
the ears!

injury from strain or postural mistakes, which is why the Royal Spa at

The new ‘Fisio Golf’ package involves a specific physiotherapy
treatment applied to the entire
back, aimed at increasing muscular relaxation, and followed by a
therapeutic full body massage, for
joint mobilization, and a series of
passive stretching movements, all
targeted to the strains applied to
the body during golf.
Priced at € 85,00 per person, this
will not only help you feel younger

The Celebrity Golf Challenge
T
he 5th edition of the Celebrity
Golf Challenge returns to the
Algarve in September, with Vale do
Lobo once again chosen as a participating course for the tournament.
This year will see the competition
fiercer than ever with both teams
– cricketers and footballers – going
all out for the coveted prize, given
that the standing score is a tie at 2-2.
The Celebrity Golf Challenge takes
place on 21st September. Spectators
can expect to witness outstanding
play as the two teams take on one
another along the greens, with the
opportunity to spot sporting heroes
enjoying some quality recreation.

A Delighted Hole in One Millionaire winner!

ongratulations to William
Dunn, from Chelmsford Golf
Club, on achieving an impressive
hole-in-one on the 7th hole of the
Royal Golf Course.
The 21 year old hailing from Pleshey
in Essex was on a family holiday at
the time and playing golf with his
father. Mr Dunn pulled out a nineiron and sweetly struck his ball towards the green, where it bounced
and spun back into the cup for a
magical hole-in-one. Not only bagging himself the hole-in-one, but
also winning himself an exclusive
trip to Las Vegas in June next year

as part of the ongoing Millionaire’s
competition! Interestingly it was
not Will’s first ever hole in one; he
actually achieved his first last year
two months before the Ryder Cup
at the Celtic Manor Twenty Ten

assim o mérito pelo hole-in-one e a
viagem que ganhou para Las Vegas,
em Junho do próximo ano, como
parte da competição Million Dollar
Hole-in-One em que participava!
Curiosamente, este não foi o primeiro
hole-in-one de Will, pois há cerca de
dois meses já havia conseguido um
outro na Ryder Cup, no campo de
golfe Celtic Manor Twenty Ten. Qual
