International Team Championship

ale do Lobo’s golf courses have
been chosen, for a successive year, from all of the Algarve’s
courses as the location for the PGAs
of Europe’s Annual Congress International Team Championship.
Following the success of the event
last year, the organisers were keen
to favour the resort once again and
Vale do Lobo is delighted to be a
part of this fantastic incentive.
This year the tournament will take
place from 25th to 30th November
with a participant turnout expected to surpass the 100 mark. It’s the
perfect opportunity for professionals to join together, not only in a
competitive format, but to mingle
and share their golfing experiences. A fun yet challenging few days
that brings the cream of Europe’s
players to the resort’s greens.
This fantastic tournament is supported by the Algarve Tourism
Board and the Ryder Cup European Development Trust, and promises to be another exciting date on
Vale do Lobo’s golfing calendar. Full

Golf Masters coming up in 2012
Can Vale do Lobo make it a winner?
A
nother prestigious tournament in store at the Vale do
Lobo Golf Club as the Golf Masters by Golf Event returns in
March, 2012. The event unites the
winners of this competition from
two of Switzerland’s highest ranking golf clubs; Domaine Imperial
and Club de Bonmont, drawing
them to Vale do Lobo and competing against the resort’s team for
the grand finale. Last year, Vale
do Lobo proudly took the title, so
let’s hope that this can be repeated
in the 2012 edition! The Golf Masters tournament will take place
from 22nd to 25th March, and support and spectators for the Vale
do Lobo team will be greatly welcomed.

final do torneio Golf Masters organizado pela empresa Golf Events, já em
Março de 2012. O torneio reúne os
vencedores do evento que decorreu
nos dois prestigiados clubes de golfe

Bonmont, na foto, proporcionando-lhes a oportunidade de jogar a final
em Vale do Lobo. No ano passado,
a equipa de Vale do Lobo sagrou-se
vencedora neste torneio, pelo que
formulamos votos de que consiga
defender o título nesta nova edição.

he Property Owners Association recently held its AGM,
during which Chairman Brian
Griffin announced he would be
standing down after ten years on
the executive committee. Mr Griffin was presented with gifts from
both the POA and Vale do Lobo and
special thanks were given for all
his work and collaboration.
The new executive committee was
elected in the meeting, with the
announcement of Mr Dick van
den Berg as the new Chairman of
the Executive Committee. Vale do
Lobo management looks forward
to welcoming him in his role and
working on key developments in
the forthcoming year/s.
A huge thank you to all whom turned
up for the AGM and contributed to
the topics of discussion. Details of
POA activities can be found on the
notice board at the Club of Clubs.

NOW moving to 2012
T
he Wolf Valley Charity Fund’s
annual Charity Dinner and
Auction is going to be re-scheduled
for a day, to be announced at a later
date, in 2012. The popular event,
was due to take place on 5th November, however, due to various
unforeseeable circumstances, this
will not be the case. Until then, with
Christmas fast approaching, donations and support continue as vital
and greatly received as ever.

a flash of colour amidst the
winter blues, and in December will
welcome the return of the Young
Talent exhibition and competition.
Local schools will exhibit, and
whether you are interested in
paintings, visual effects, masks,
collages or sculptures, there is
something for everyone to enjoy.
The Young Talent exhibition will
run from 15th December, 2011 until 31st January, 2012. Vote for your
favourite piece by leaving your
vote in the ballot box at the gallery.

season. We’re renowned for it.
The fabulous 3 Charities Christmas market returns on 3rd and 4th
December, bringing choirs, carol
singers, fashion shows, gift stands
and a European style food market.
The market is open all weekend.
Proceeds go to three local charities.
Vale do Lobo Shopping is packed
with Christmas goodies. The annual Christmas Cocktail Party for Proprietors Club members and their
families takes place on 15th December at the Club of Clubs, starting at
18:00h. Christmas Day wouldn’t be
complete without its golf competition, followed by the Boxing Day
tournament and a special ninehole edition on New Year’s Day.
Many of the restaurants are offering festive menus – contact them
individually for bookings. New
Year’s Eve fireworks at the Praça are
free to all, bookings for individual
bar and restaurant parties are required. Merry Christmas!

Panoramic radiography is a
complementary test for primary
diagnosis in dental health, giving

dental health, highlighting areas
that are often missed in the usual
dental check-ups.
It allows you to have a general
knowledge of the whole bone and
dental structure, and should be
included in a routine visit. And
using this, your dentist can evaluate all treatments carried out
previously and their current status, diagnose tooth decay or gum
disease (periodontites), assess the
eruption of new teeth, the position of wisdom teeth and study the
bone prior to implant placement,
for example.
Think ahead when brushing your
teeth. Panoramic radiography is
quick, easy and painless, and if
digital, uses very limited radiation,
making it a safe choice once a year.

19th consecutive year in 2012, from
Sunday, 29th January through to
Saturday, 4th February. The event
commences with an induction day,
followed by a welcome cocktail
party in the evening. Various qualifying rounds and sub-competitions
will take place over the following
days, ending with a prestigious
prize giving ceremony, reception
and dinner.
The week costs €580 to the general
public (discounts available for Vale
do Lobo cardholders and Members’
guests) and €130 for Golf Club title owners and annual members.
Combined tournament and accommodation packages also available.

Busy times at the Golf Club
I
t’s been an eventful few months
at the Vale do Lobo Golf Club,
including the Ronald McDonald
fundraiser, the Amadeus Golf Day
and the Footballers vs Cricketers
challenge.
The recent AGM saw two new Captains take over at the Vale do Lobo
Golf Club, and by popular election,
Mrs Morag Robertson and Mr Peter
Rumgay, are the first points of contact for Vale do Lobo’s golf members. We wish them every success in
