Adenomyosis is frequently associated with abnormal uterine bleeding and it can influence quality of life and of sexual life satisfaction. We performed this pilot study to evaluate quality of life in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding associate to adenomyosis. Material & Methods: We included 10 patients with adenomyosis diagnosed by transvaginal pelvic ultrasound. Abnormal uterine bleeding was measured by bleeding score. Patients were submitted to hysteroscopy to exclude uterine cavitary pathologies and adenomyosis was diagnosed by ultrasound scan. We applied WQOL-BREEF to measure quality of life scores. We use visual-analogue scores to measure pain scores. Results: Patients presented mean age of 38.5 ±5.4 years old. Visual scale pain scores were 6.5 ±4.4 for dysmenorrhea, 5.1 ±7.1 for dyspareunia and 4.5 ±0.7 for acyclic chronic pelvic pain. Patients presented the following scores: physical domain of 40.2 ±18.9, psychological domain of 54.2 ±16.3, social domain 66.7±29.7 and environmental domain 50.8 ±15.4. We found a positive correlation between pain scores and quality of life, and we also found a positive correlation between bleeding scores and quality of life. Conclusion: Adenomyosis negatively affects quality of life of patients suffering of abnormal uterine bleeding. Patients with higher bleeding score have the worst quality of life scores. ------------------------------------Mots clefs : adenomyosis, quality of life, abnormal uterine bleeding Auteurs : Références : , , , Auteurs Carlos Souza 1, Genro Vanessa 1, Marcela Dias 1, Alexandra Ponso 1, Maria Lucia Oppermann 1, Joao Cunha-Filho 1, 1.
