Simple Past:
Quando devo utilizar o passado simples?
• Quando me refiro a algo que aconteceu em um tempo
determinado no passado;
• Quando já estou falando de certa data no passado e
continuo nesse assunto;
• Quando coloco “marcadores” de tempo no passado.
Examples:
• I Lived in France in 2012.
• On May 1st I went to a restaurant. When I arrived
there I met my friends and my cousin. The food was
terrible. It was cold and salty. I arrived home around
10 pm but I went to bed only at midnight.
• Last year I traveled to China. It was an amazing
experience!!
Expressões de passado:
• Yesterday
• The day before yesterday
• Last month
• Last week

 Last weekend I went to the Shopping Mall with my best friend. We
watched a movie and we had a lot of fun. After the movie, we bought lots of
clothes because all the stores were on sale. It was amazing.
 Well, my last weekend was boring. I had a cold and stayed in bed since
Friday night. I took some medicines and watched around 4 movies. I'm not
recovered yet, so I think I need some more time in bed... This is awful.
 Can you think about an exciting weekend... that was my weekend!!!! Some
friends and I traveled to Catalina Island. It was a 2 hour trip by boat.
Hopefully nobody felt sick. We stayed at a luxurious hotel in front of the
ocean. The hotel was crowded but we had a lot of fun. We did a lot of
underwater sports. We went diving, fishing and we swam with the
dolphins. After this so amazing experience we went on a trail on the
mountains and on the other day we just relaxed at the beach looking to
that wonderful ocean. The food there tasted different... they are very
healthy... I hope I can go there some other day. What's my advice for
you.... next trip go to Catalina Island!!!!!
