Bjorn Kierulf Createrra, Slovakia Passivhaus with straw panels Ecococon Design: Createrra Our quest to create uncompromising, sustainable and healthy homes was finally achieved with Ecococon panels. Our clients are delighted by the low energy bills, quality of building and fabulous comfort we have provided them with. Ecococon Panels All panels are 400mm thick Width (or height of Lintel and Sill) can be adjusted from 400 to 1200mm Height (or width of Lintel and Sill) can be adjusted from 400 to 3000mm The inclined panel has an angle of max. 45° Based on your design we provide you with a complete panel assembly drawing and a detailed 3d model of the construction. Mounting the panels on the building site is as easy and fun as playing with Lego. Braced Standard Column Inclined Lintel Sill Straw panel dimensions variation for three meters < 1 mm Type of wood (planed, calibrated) Peel strength of pressed straw C24 class 0,040 MPa Airborne sound insulation index Biological research - straw kept under room humidity conditions, relative air humidity 50%, no mould fungi development was noticed. 54 dB Heat transfer coefficient 0 R = 9,2 (m2∙K)/W; U = 0,111 W/(m2∙K) Water vapor diffusion resistance (clay plaster) Pressed straw techmology µ 9,14 Multidirectional, Homogeneous Clay layer resistance for 500 g. ball impact Density of pressed straw No damage 100 kg/m Straw humidity 3 Outside 10 - 12 % B-s1, d0 Inside B-s1, d0 Flammability class Ecococon straw panels ECOCOCON is a modular building system that adapts to the creative needs of the architect and makes life for the builder easy. Easy assembly, very precise elements with +/-2mm tolerance and an all-in-one concept (Structural elements and insulation) make this a cost-effective solution for all parties involved in the building process. ECOCOCON panels are made from 99% of locally sourced renewable materials, such as straw and wood. Combined with interior clay plaster directly applied on the straw and an exterior layer of wood fibre boards, we provide a complete ecological building system. Characteristics 99% natural materials (cradle to cradle concept) Fire resistant up to 120min (with applied clay plaster) High insulation value - U-value as low as 0,11 W/m2K Easy to transport High thermal mass All-year assembly possible Very precise (+/- 2mm) Possible to apply clay plaster directly on the inside straw surface Quick assembly Safe and verified construction Earthquake resistant Controlled and certified production Amazing energy efficiency With u-values for the wall as low as 0,11 W/(m2K) it is easy to heat your house with just one small oven once a day (or any other small heating system), and usually the heating season is just 4 months from November to February… there will be days in winter when the sun will heat the house all by itself! Details are designed to achieve optimal thermal bridge values. Not only will you minimise energy losses, but ensure there is no mould growth or longterm moisture damage to the construction. Our panels do not only save energy for heating and cooling, but have a very low grey (primary) energy content. Production of straw panels Ecococon have a very low energy demand and are produced from quickly regenerating renewable materials. Even the wood content is minimised. Interior only from natural materials Use of natural materials, VOC free paints and oils ensure a healthy interior climate. Just to name a few, we recommend hemp fibres, wool and wood-fibre for additional insulation, different woods and natural linoleum for floors and ceilings, clay plaster in all colours and structures. Tadelact and other techniques the Romans used in their luxury baths can be used to waterproof walls in the bathroom or to create a seamless clay floor White clay plaster applied directly on straw and artistic designs with modeled clay and earth colors. Such a look can only be achieved with natural materials. Characteristics Benefits 100% natural materials Healthy interior Gained from sustainable resources Very modern designs possible Verified building biology Exclusive surfaces not achievable with other materials All natural colours Use of non-emissive glues and plasters Homely, warm feeling Join a growing community You are not alone - doing things different needs vision, courage and perseverance. This is why being part of a growing community of architects, specialists and builders is a huge boost to your business.
