Usage: Going to (Uso de: „going to‟)
Going to is used to express an action that you have planned for in the future. It
expresses the idea that you intend or have decided to do something before you speak.
(“Going to” é usado para expressar uma ação que você planejou para o futuro. Ele
expressa a ideia de que você tem a intenção ou está decidido de fazer algo antes de
falar.)
Example: I won the first prize in the contest. I am going to celebrate!
(Eu ganhei o primeiro prêmio da competição. Eu vou comemorar!)
We are not going to see the manager today.
(Nós não vamos ver o gerente hoje.)
When are you going to submit your report?
(Quando você vai enviar seu relatório?)
Going to is also used to express prediction. Prediction made using this expression is
based on evidence; that is, you are expressing something that certainly will happen.
(“Going to” também é usado para prever. Prever algo usando essa expressão é baseado
na evidência; você está expressando algo que certamente vai acontecer.)
Example:
The sky is dark. It is going to rain.
(O céu está escuro. Vai começar a chover.)
It‟s 5:00pm. You better hurry or you are going to miss your train.
(São 17:00. Melhor você se apressar ou vai perder o seu trem.)
I lost the company files. The supervisor isn‟t going to be very pleased.
(Eu perdi os arquivos da empresa. O supervisor não vai estar muito
satisfeito.)
When using going to, follow this form:
