ausgezeichnet, weil die Ergebnisse der Umfrage in Sachen Lebensqualität, Ausbildung
und Kultur sowie Umweltbewusstsein hervorragend gewesen sind.

Der Pustertaler Radweg
Der Pustertaler Radweg startet in der Ortschaft Mühlbach und überquert das Pustertal
bis nach Lienz in Osttirol. Insgesamt sind es 105 km, die sich durch die malerische
Landschaft entlang der Drau schlängeln und sich übrigens auch wunderbar mit der
Bahn kombinieren lassen.

termina a Lienz nel Tirolo Orientale. Sono in tutto 105 km che si estendono in mezzo

The Puster Valley cycle trail begins in Mühlbach and traverses the Puster Valley to Lienz
in East Tyrol. Overall it covers 105 km that snake their way through the picturesque
landscape alongside the river Drau and, incidentally, is also ideal for combining with
trips on the railway.

D Mit seiner atemberaubenden, von mächtigen
trekking. Come ad esempio a Plata, sopra
Perca, dove innumerevoli, affusolate torrette
di terra si innalzano verso il cielo e, in base
alle condizioni atmosferiche e all’ora del
giorno, cambiano il loro colore e il loro
aspetto. Le piramidi di terra di Perca sono
uno dei monumenti naturali più suggestivi
della zona e meritano sicuramente di essere
visitate!
Dreitausendern und Wasserfällen geprägten
Landschaft, zählt der Naturpark RieserfernerAhrn zweifellos zu den schönsten Schutzgebieten der Provinz Südtirol. Auf einer Fläche
von 31.500 ha erstreckt er sich entlang des
Tauferer Ahrntals und umfasst im Süden die
Pustertaler Gemeinden Gais und Percha.
Auf aussichtsreichen Pfaden offenbart die
Natur dem Wanderfreund hier ihre schönsten
Schätze. Wie in Platten bei Percha etwa,
wo unzählige, schlanke Erdkegel in den
Himmel ragen und je nach Witterung und
Tageszeit ihre Farbe und mitunter auch ihre
Erscheinung ändern. Die Erdpyramiden
von Percha sind eines der beeindruckendsten Denkmäler der heimischen Natur und
lohnen auf jeden Fall einen Abstecher!

With its breathtaking landscape that is
shaped by mighty three thousand metreplus summits and waterfalls, the Rieserferner-Ahrn nature reserve is without doubt
one of the loveliest conservation areas
in the province of South Tyrol. Covering
31,500 hectares, it stretches along the Tauferer
Ahrntal valley and in the south includes the
Puster Valley communities of Gais and Percha.
Hikers can discover the loveliest treasures
that nature has to offer on paths that reveal
a multitude of magnificent views. Like in Platten
near Percha, for example, where countless
slender earth pillars reach up to the heavens
and vary their colours and sometimes their
appearance too depending on the weather
conditions and time of day. The earth pyramids of Percha are one of the most impressive local natural monuments and are well
worth a detour to see!

Sonnwendstein
Das Kulturdenkmal der besonderen
Art befindet sich in Wielenberg.
Etwa 15 Gehminuten oberhalb
des Kräuterhofes Hauser befindet
sich ein uralter Sonnwend- oder
Kalenderstein. Es handelt sich
hierbei um einen Granitblock mit
fünf Löchern; werden Stäbe in die
Löcher gesteckt, zeigt deren Schattenwurf bei Sonnenaufgang markante Zeitpunkte im Jahreslauf an.

un’antichissima pietra che nella
preistoria serviva a calcolare le
stagioni e il calendario. Si tratta
di un blocco di granito con cinque
fori; se nei fori vengono inserite
delle aste, all’alba le loro ombre
indicano punti rilevanti nel corso
dell’anno.

This very special cultural monument is situated in Wielenberg.
Around 15 minutes on foot above
the Kräuterhof houses is an ancient solstice or calendar stone.
The stone is made of granite and
has five holes. When rods are
placed in them, their shadow at
sunrise indicates prominent times
in the course of the year.

D Die heimischen Museen gewähren interessante
Einblicke in die Vergangenheit Südtiroler
Lebensweisen. Geschichtsliebhaber folgen
den Spuren der Pustertaler Handwerkskunst
und Kultur und bewundern die Exponate im
Archäologiemuseum Mansio Sebatum,
das die Siedlungsgeschichte bis in die
Römer- und Eisenzeit zurückverfolgt.
„Geschichte zum Anfassen“ ist das Motto
des Volkskundemuseums in Dietenheim,
das die Besucher in den einstigen bäuerlichen Alltag zurückversetzt. Das Brunecker
Stadtmuseum zeigt zeitgenössische und
sakrale Kunstgegenstände, und neben dem
weltweit einzigartigen Feuerwehrhelmmuseum in Gais ist auch das Messner
Mountain Museum RIPA auf Schloss Bruneck
mehr als einen Besuch wert …

I musei locali offrono una visione interessante
del passato e delle tradizioni popolari dell’Alto Adige. Chi è interessato alla storia può
seguire le tracce dell’arte artigianale e della
cultura della Val Pusteria e ammirare gli oggetti esposti presso il museo archeologico
Mansio Sebatum, dove si “viaggia” nell’epoca remota dei Romani e dell’età del ferro.
“Storia da toccare con mano” è lo slogan
del museo provinciale degli usi e costumi
di Teodone dove i visitatori ripercorrono la
vita della società rurale di un tempo. Il museo civico di Brunico espone opere d’arte
contemporanea e sacrale; a Gais invece si
trova il museo degli elmi dei vigili del fuoco,
unico al mondo del suo genere. Infine vale
sicuramente la pena visitare il museo MMM
RIPA nel castello di Brunico …

The local museums provide interesting insights into the way South Tyroleans lived
in the past. History-lovers can discover the
handicrafts and culture of the Puster Valley
and marvel at the exhibits in the Mansio
Sebatum museum of archaeology, which
traces the history of settlement back as far
as Roman times and the Iron Age.
“History at your fingertips” is the motto of the
Museum of Folk Traditions in Dietenheim,
which transports visitors back in time to explore the everyday lives of the rural population.
Bruneck’s Town Museum displays contemporary and sacred artistic objects, and
together with the world’s only fire helmet
museum in Gais, the Messner Mountain
Museum RIPA at Bruneck Castle is certainly
well worth a visit …

The Heritage Trail in Gais
Harmonisch durch Wald und Weide,
vorbei an Schloss Neuhaus mit seiner
schönen Burgschenke, lädt der Kulturweg Gais auf einem Rundparcours
von rund 2 km zum Meditieren und
Verweilen ein. Entlang des Weges
haben Künstler Werke installiert, mit
denen sie bedeutende Zeitgenossen
würdigen, die ehemals in Gais gelebt
und gewirkt haben. Neben dem Minnesänger Oswald von Wolkenstein, gilt
die Hommage dem Dichter Ezra Pound
und dessen Tochter Mary de Rachewiltz
sowie den Bildhauerbrüdern Bacher.
Il percorso circolare di 2 km che si estende
armoniosamente attraverso il bosco e i
pascoli, passa vicino al castello Neuhaus
con il suo bell’albergo, invita a meditare
e a rilassarsi. Lungo il sentiero, vari artisti
hanno esposto delle opere con le quali
vogliono rendere onore a personaggi di
rilievo che un tempo vivevano e lavoravano
a Gais. Oltre al menestrello Oswald von
Wolkenstein, si ricorda il poeta Ezra Pound,
sua figlia Mary de Rachewiltz e i fratelli
scultori Bacher.
A harmonious route through forests and
meadows, and past Neuhaus Castle
with its lovely castle tavern, the Gais
Heritage Trail invites walkers to meditate
and linger a while on a circular trail
of around 2 km in length. Works have
been installed by various artists along
the way in honour of the important
figures who once lived and worked in
Gais. Alongside the minstrel, Oswald
von Wolkenstein, homage is paid to

D Themenwege sind eine hervorragende Mög-
lichkeit, um mit der Pustertaler Geschichte
und Kultur auf Tuchfühlung zu gehen.
In St. Lorenzen führt ein archäologischer
Lehrpfad zu den Fundstellen römischer Artefakte. „Steine erzählen“ ist der Name des
Rundwegs, der von Pfalzen aus eine kulturgeschichtliche Reise in die Vergangenheit
unternimmt. Der Kulturweg Gais wird auf
seinem Weg durch die anmutige Landschaft
von Andenken an bekannte Künstler und
Literaten flankiert, und von Bruneck nach
Reischach gelangt man über einen der wohl
schönsten Naturlehrpfade überhaupt.

I sentieri tematici sono un’occasione ideale
per entrare in contatto con la storia e la cultura della Val Pusteria.
A San Lorenzo, un itinerario archeologico
porta ai punti in cui sono stati rinvenuti gli
oggetti e resti di mura dell’era romana. “Le
pietre raccontano” è invece il nome del
sentiero che da Falzes permette di fare un
viaggio nel passato. Il sentiero culturale di
Gais che attraversa un paesaggio suggestivo, è dedicato alla memoria di noti artisti e
scrittori che hanno vissuto e operato a Gais.
Infine, uno dei più bei sentieri naturalistici
in assoluto, conduce da Brunico a Riscone.

the Puster Valley.
In St. Lorenzen, an archaeological trail

On the summit plateau of the Kronplatz, families will find the very thing that makes for a
successful holiday with the kids: adventure and fun for the little ones, peace and relaxation
for the grownups. In the Red Indian village of “Kikeriki”, the children can let off steam
to their heart’s content and playfully imitate the lives of genuine Native Americans.
Alongside three traditional tents and a camp fire, a petting zoo has also been established.
As part of the “Kikeriki Family Days” from July to September, every day there is a fantastic programme of events for children in the Indian village with games and fun activities.
And whilst the little ones have a great time under excellent supervision, Mum and Dad

culinarie, la cui popolarità ha già superato
da molto tempo i confini della regione. La
tanto decantata cucina pusterese è ricca di
tradizione e si distingue per i suoi piatti a
base di prodotti freschi.
Uno degli ingredienti principali di molti
piatti creativi è la patata pusterese il cui
gusto inconfondibile viene esaltato nella rosticciata “Herrengeröstel”, nei canederli con
albicocche “Marillenknödel” o nei “Tirtln”.
Sul tagliere della merenda tipica pusterese
“Brettljause”, non può mancare il formaggio
saporito di malga, lo speck affumicato e
la tipica pagnotta dei contadini “Bauernbreatl”. Ora Vi sveliamo l’antica ricetta dei
“Tirtln”, una specialità altoatesina …

delicious specialities whose popularity has
long since reached beyond their homeland.
Traditional dishes prepared with fresh produce distinguish the much-praised Puster
Valley cuisine.
The chief constituent of creative dishes is the
Puster Valley potato, whose unmistakeable
taste finds favour in the summer months
especially, when hearty “Herrengeröstel”
(veal & potatoes), “Marillenknödel” (apricot
dumplings) and “Tirtln” are served. Zesty
mountain cheese, hearty bacon and the
typical “Bauernbreatl” (farmer’s bread)
are all crucial parts of the traditional
“Brettljause”, or snack on a breadboard.

PREPARAZIONE
METHOD
Füllung: Spinat und Kartoffeln zusammen passieren,
die fein gehackte Zwiebel hell anrösten, auskühlen
lassen und mit Quark, Spinat und Kartoffeln gut
untermischen.
Ripieno: Passare al setaccio gli spinaci e le patate, rosolare
il pesto di cipolla, lasciarlo raffreddare ed aggiungerlo al ripieno di ricotta, agli spinaci e alle patate, mescolando bene.
Filling: Pass the spinach and potato together through
a sieve, lightly brown the finely chopped onion, leave
to cool and mix well with the quark, spinach and
potatoes.
Teig: Weizenmehl, Roggenmehl, Eier, Öl, Salz und
nach Bedarf Wasser zu einem festen Teig kneten.
Zudecken und einige Zeit ruhen lassen.
Impasto: Mescolare farina di frumento, farina di segale,
uova, olio e sale e, secondo necessità, aggiungere un po’
d’acqua, formando un impasto omogeneo e piuttosto duro.
Coprire e lasciare riposare la pasta per circa mezz’ora.
Anschließend vom Teig ca. 3 cm dicke Rollen formen,
nach Gefühl etwa 5 cm dicke Stücke abschneiden
und runde 2 mm dicke Blätter auswellen (Durchmesser
etwa 15 cm). Auf ein Teigblatt nun etwas Füllung geben,
mit einem zweiten Blatt zudecken und ringsum fest
andrücken. Den überstehenden Rand rund abradeln.
Dann in heißem, schwimmenden Fett ausbacken.
Tagliare l’impasto a pezzi da ca. 3 cm di larghezza, poi
spianare ogni pezzo con il mattarello dello spessore di ca.
2 mm e ritagliare dei dischi (del diametro di ca. 15 cm).
Distribuire il ripieno in mezzo al disco lasciando il bordo
libero, coprirlo con un altro disco di pasta e premere bene i
bordi con le dita. Passare i bordi con una rotella dentellata.
Infine friggere i Tirtln in olio caldissimo.
Dough: Work the wheat flour, rye flour, eggs, oil,
salt and water (if needed) into a firm dough.
Cover and leave to rest for a while.
Next form approx. 3 cm thick rolls from the dough, cut
approx. 5 cm long pieces from the rolls by eye and
roll out 2 mm thick circles (approx. 15 cm diameter).
Place a little filling on each dough circle, cover with a
second circle and then firmly press down all the way
round. Trim the overlapping edge with a pastry wheel.
Then fry in hot fat.

Dörfer für den bevorstehenden Winter.
Allen voran der Kronplatz, Italiens Skigebiet Nr. 1 (ausgezeichnet im Jahr 2012),
das mit seinen herrlichen Pisten und optimalen Schneeverhältnissen zum Hauptziel für
leidenschaftliche Wintersportler wird.

Non appena il paesaggio verde intenso indossa il bianco mantello invernale, quando
i torrenti e laghi, che fino a poco tempo prima
erano fonte di freschezza, si ricoprono d’un
fitto strato di ghiaccio e quando l’aria mite
estiva diventa brezza fresca di montagna,
Brunico e i suoi paesi circostanti si preparano all’imminente arrivo dell’inverno.
Innanzitutto Plan de Corones, la montagna
dello sci n° 1 in Italia (che ha ottenuto
tale riconoscimento nel 2012), con le sue
modernissime cabinovie, impianti di risalita
all’avanguardia, piste meravigliose e condizioni
eccellenti d’innevamento, diventa la meta
principale per i vacanzieri sportivi invernali.
E, mentre le famiglie si divertono in mezzo
alla neve farinosa e gli sciatori percorrono
le infinite discese, i romantici passeggiano
lungo i sentieri battuti in mezzo alla natura
ricoperta di neve.

When the lush green landscape is covered
with its white winter clothing, when the
brooks and lakes, which not so very long
ago offered soothing refreshment, are covered by a thick layer of ice, and the mild
summer breezes turn into janglingly clear
mountain air, then Bruneck and its villages
arm themselves for the impending winter.
First and foremost among them is the Kronplatz,
Italy’s number one skiing resort (awarded in 2012), which, with its ultra-modern
gondolas and lifts, wonderful slopes and excellent snow conditions, becomes the main
destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
And whilst families enjoy themselves in the
fine powdery snow, and skiers explore the
endless descents, romantics wend their way
along prepared hiking trails and enjoy the
views of the snow-covered natural surroundings.
