LAURENCE EQUILBEY | DIRIGENTIN
Laurence Equilbey hat sich durch ihre erfolggekrönte, langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Choeur
Accentus längst weltweit an die Spitze der Dirigenten für Chorsinfonik und A cappella Musik
katapultiert. Seit 2012 leitet sie das französische Insula Orchestra mit bemerkenswertem
Avancement und zählt inzwischen zu den aufstrebendsten Dirigenten Frankreichs.
Die vielseitige Künstlerin ist eine gefragte Dirigentin für Sinfoniekonzerte und Opern. Laurence
Equilbey stand am Pult des Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre
National des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Brussels Philharmonic, MDR
Sinfonieorchester/MDR Rundfunkchor, Camerata Salzburg, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Sinfonia
Varsovia, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln und Collegium Vocale Gent.
Bedeutende Operndirigate waren La Cenerentola (Festival International d’Art Lyrique d’Aix-enProvence), Brittens Albert Herring und Reynaldo Hahns Ciboulette (Opera Comique Paris), Sous
apparence (Opera National de Paris), Der Freischütz (Toulon Opera) sowie Albert Herring (Opera de
Rouen Haute-Normandie).
Ihre Diskographie enthält zahlreiche preisgekrönte Aufnahmen mit Chormusik von Haydn,
Mendelssohn, Liszt und Fauré bei Naive Records und Mirare Records. Vor kurzem ist die erste CD von
Laurence Equilbey, Insula Orchestra und Choeur Accentus bei Naive Records erschienen. Die
Einspielung von Glucks Orfeo ed Euridice wird 2015 veröffentlicht.
Zukünftige Engagements folgen mit ihren Debüts im Barbican London mit dem Insula Orchestra und
Choeur Accentus, beim hr Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales
und erneuten Konzerten mit dem Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris
und Orchestre de L’Opera de Rouen.
Laurence Equilbey ist Associate Artist am Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence und
regelmäßiger Gast der Cité de la Musique/Philharmonie de Paris.
Sie studierte Musik in Paris, Wien und London sowie Dirigieren insbesondere bei Eric Ericson, Denise
Ham, Colin Metters und Jorma Panula.

Owing to her success winning, long-term collaboration with the Choeur Accentus, Laurence Equilbey
has catapulted herself since long into the elite of conductors for choral-symphonic and A cappella
music. Since 2012 she is the Chief Conductor of the French Insula Orchestra with singular
advancement and is regarded meanwhile as one of the most promising French conductors.
A versatile artist, she is much in demand in the symphonic and opera genre. Laurence Equilbey was
at the helm of the Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National des
Pays de la Loire, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Brussels Philharmonic, MDR Leipzig Symphony/MDR
Leipzig Radio Choir, Camerata Salzburg, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Sinfonia Varsovia, Akademie
für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln and Collegium Vocale Gent.
Important opera conducting projects have included La Cenerentola (Festival International d’Art
Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence), Britten’s Albert Herring and Reynaldo Hahn’s Ciboulette (Opera Comique
Paris), Sous apparence (Opera National de Paris), Der Freischütz (Toulon Opera) as well as Albert
Herring (Opera de Rouen Haute-Normandie).
Her discography includes numerous award-winning recordings with choral music of Haydn,
Mendelssohn, Liszt and Fauré for Naïve Records and Mirare Records. Lately the first recording of
Laurence Equilbey, Insula Orchestra and Choeur Accentus has been released on Naïve Records. The
recording of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice will be released in 2015.
Forthcoming engagements will include her debuts at the Barbican London with the Insula Orchestra
and Choeur Accentus, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and
return visits with the Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and
Orchestre de L’Opera de Rouen.
Laurence Equilbey is also an associate artist of the Grand Théâtre de Provence Aix-en-Provenc and a
companion of the Cité de la Musique/Philharmonie de Paris.
She has studied music in Paris, Vienna and London, and conducting notably with Eric Ericson, Denise
Ham, Colin Metters and Jorma Panula.
