V zalesněném údolí, pod sídlištěm Liščí Vrch, na jihovýchodním
okraji Mostu je situován rekreačně-sportovní areál Benedikt.
Původně zatopený povrchový důl sloužil dlouhé roky jako oblíbené koupaliště a v letech 2001–2002 prošel rozsáhlou rekonstrukcí do své dnešní podoby. Vodní plocha byla rozdělena na dvě části a v jejich okolí byla
zbudována sportovní hřiště a hřiště pro děti s prolézačkami, skluzavkami
a pískovišti.
Větší vodní plocha s písčitou pláží je využívána hlavně na koupání, menší
je určena rybářům. Na sportovních hřištích areálu se návštěvníci mohou věnovat hokejbalu, basketbalu, plážovému volejbalu, malé kopané, nohejbalu,
volejbalu, házené a tenisu. V provozu je autokemp, parkoviště, restaurace,
stánky s občerstvením, je zde otevřená hudební scéna a bowlingové centrum. Benedikt je místo pro klidné procházky, ale i kondiční sportování (běh,
kolečkové brusle, cyklistika), je také místem konání společenských akcí
a sportovních soutěží.
Areál je přístupný pěšky ze sídliště Liščí Vrch, autobusem ze zastávky
Vtelno nebo autem ze silnice tvořící jihovýchodní obchvat města.
Na jih a východ je údolí Benediktu otevřeno a nabízí výhled na vrchy
Českého středohoří a městskou část Vtelno s barokním kostelem, farou
a kaplemi stavitele Octavia Broggia z počátku 18. století.
In dem bewaldeten Tal unter dem Stadtteil „Liščí vrch“ am südöstlichen Rande der Stadt Most befindet sich das Freizeit- und Sportareal „Benedikt“. Einst der künstlich überschwemmte Tagebau diente jahrelang als
beliebtes Freibad. Dieses wurde dann in den Jahren 2001–2002 grundsätzlich
wiederhergestellt und bekam seine heutige Form. Die Wasserfläche wurde in
zwei Teile getrennt und zahlreiche Sport- und Kinderspielplätze mit Klettergerüsten, Rutschbahnen und Sandkästen entstanden in dessen Umgebung.
Die größere der zwei Wasserflächen mit dem Sandstrand dient vorwiegend
als ein Badeort, die kleinere wird dann von den Angelsportlern ausgenutzt. Die
Sportplätze sind vor allem für Ballspiele bestimmt – für Hockeyball, Korbball,
Beachvolleyball, kleinen Fußball, Fußtennis, Volleyball, Handball und Tennis.
Das Autocamping, Parkplätze, Gaststätten und Imbisssstände, die Musikbühne
und das Bowling-Zentrum stehen hier im Areal zur Verfügung. Das Arealgelände
lockt sowohl zu behaglichen Spaziergängen als auch zum Sporttreiben – zum
Konditionslaufen, Rollschuh- und Radfahren. Ebenso zahlreiche Gesellschaftsveranstaltungen und Sportbewerbe werden hier organisiert.
Das Areal ist zu Fuß von dem Stadtteil Liščí vrch, mit dem Bus von der
Haltestelle Vtelno und mit dem Auto von der südöstlichen Stadtumgehung
zu erreichen.
Das Benedikt-Tal ist in der Süd- und Ostrichtung geöffnet und bietet schöne Ausblicke auf das Böhmische Mittelgebirge oder das Stadtteil Vtelno mit
der Barockkirche, dem Pfarrhaus und den Kapellen – dem aus dem 18. Jh.
stammenden Werk des Architekten Octavius Broggia.
The holiday and sports ground Benedikt is situated in a wooded
valley, below the town quarter Liščí Vrch (Fox Hill), in the south-eastern outskirts of Most. Originally a flooded open pit mine served as a favourite bathing spot for many years, and in 2001–2002 it underwent an extensive
reconstruction, getting the present appearance. The water surface was divided
into two parts. In the surroundings sports fields and children’s playground with
climbing frames, slides and sandpits were constructed.
The large water area with a sand beach is mainly used for bathing, the smaller
one is intended for the fishermen. At the sports fields the visitors can pursue
floorball, basketball, beach volleyball, mini football, netball played with the ball
kicked across, volleyball, handball and tennis. The campsite, car park, restaurants, stalls with refreshment are in operation, and also a music stage and bowling centre have been opened here. Benedikt is a place not only for quiet walks
but also for constitutional sports (jogging, roller skating, cycling). It also serves
as a place for various social and sports events and contests.
The grounds are accessible from Liščí Vrch on foot, from the Vtelno bus stop
by bus, or from the highway forming south-eastern by-pass road of the town.
The valley of Benedikt is open southwards and eastwards, thus offering
a nice view of České středohoří (The Bohemian Uplands) and the town quarter Vtelno with a baroque church, parish and chapels by the builder Octavius
Broggio from the beginning of the 18th century.
