Float Glass :

Mediteranean Float Glass/Cevital (in Join Venture with the Chinese CLFG) with a production
capacity : 3 lines of 600, 700 and 900 tons/year.

ENAVA : manufacturer of ordinary glass with intention to invest in Float Glass technology
Electric and Electronic components :
This sector shows high annual growth (~10%). 16 local companies are active in this sector in an
important industrial pole in north-east of Algeria
Steel Industry :
The liquid steel production capacity of Algeria is 2.4 Million Tons/year (ArcelorMittal)

Conclusions

The Solar Potential Exist and is very high

A detailled Renewable Energy Program is defined with an objectve of 7200 MWe in
CSP and 2800 MWc in PV until 2030

A special fund of 120 Billion $ has been announced

CSP (Parabolic Trough and Power Tower) and PV (mono and poly Silicon)
technologies are mature

R & D present ( Research centers and Universities)

Weaknesses: Infrastructure, Equipement, and industrial know-how


Install meteo stations all over the country

Strong policy initiative

Support promising technologies
