motorola ROKR model E1 Install Memory Card 1 Remove the back cover and battery from your phone. 3 Slide holder shut and lock into place. The card will not work unless it is inserted properly and locked into place. 2 Lift the card holder up and insert the card with the gold contacts facing down. Position the card so the notch in the card compartment on the phone lines up with the groove on the card. 4 Replace the battery and back cover. motorola ROKR model E1 View Storage Information 1 Press the Menu key. 5 Press DETAILS. Tip: Press the Menu key to format or rename the card. 2 Scroll to Settings, then press the joystick. 3 Scroll to Phone Status, then press the joystick. 4 Scroll to Storage Device, then press the joystick. motorola ROKR model E1 View Multimedia 1 Press the Menu key. 2 Scroll to Multimedia, then press the joystick. 3 Scroll to the desired multimedia, then press the joystick. Here we'll show you how to view the pictures you have stored on the memory card. 4 The icon in the file list title indicates the current storage device, (phone) or (memory card). To switch the storage device, press the Menu key. 5 Scroll to Switch Storage Device, then press the joystick. 6 Scroll to the desired option, then press the joystick. motorola ROKR model E1 Store Multimedia 1 You can save pictures and videos on the phone or memory card. View or change the storage setting before you take the picture or start to record. From the camera or video viewfinder, press the Menu key. 2 Scroll to Switch Storage Device, then press the joystick. 3 Select or make sure TRANS is checked to save to the memory card. motorola ROKR model E1 Transfer Multimedia 5 1 Scroll right to change the USB connection to the memory card. Press the Menu key. 2 6 Scroll to Settings, then press the joystick. Attach one end of the Motorola Original USB cable to the accessory port on your phone and the other end to an available USB port on your computer. 3 Scroll to Connection, then press the joystick. 8 Drag and drop files between your computer and memory card. When transferring files to your phone, use the following folders: mobile/picture - pictures, wallpaper, screen savers mobile/video - video clips mobile/audio - MP3 files Note: MP3 files transferred this way cannot be played in iTunes on your phone. To load music files on your phone for playback, use the iTunes software on your computer. 9 Before disconnecting the cable If you are using a PC, right click the Safely Remove Hardware icon at the bottom of your computer screen. Then select USB Mass Storage Device and Stop. If you are using a Mac, drag the Removable Disk icon to the Trash. 10 Select USB Mass Storage Device and press OK. Now it is safe to disconnect the cable. 7 Find where your phone's memory card displays as a Removable Disk icon. On a PC, this is the My Computer window. On a Mac, it's on the desktop. 4 Scroll to USB Settings, then press the joystick. Double click the Removable Disk icon to access the files on your phone's memory card. 11 On your phone, scroll right to change the USB connection back to Data/Fax. motorola ROKR model E1 Transfer Songs 4 1 Scroll to USB Settings, then press the joystick. Before you can transfer songs to your phone, you must install the iTunes® software on your computer using the CD provided in the box with your phone. Follow the steps in this demo after you install iTunes on your computer. 8 Your phone will appear in the Source list in the left pane of the iTunes window. If this is the first time you have connected your phone to iTunes, you may be asked to name your phone. Scroll right to change the USB connection to the memory card. Press the Menu key. 2 Scroll to Settings, then press the joystick. 9 6 Click on Library in the Source list. Open iTunes from the Start menu on a PC or from the dock on a Mac. 3 Scroll to Connection, then press the joystick. 7 Connect one end of the Motorola Original USB cable to the accessory port on your phone and the other end to an available USB port on your computer. Drag and drop songs, albums, or playlists to your phone -orClick Autofill at the bottom of the screen to automatically transfer a random selection of songs to your phone. 5 Note: You must have a memory card in your phone to use iTunes. 10 motorola ROKR model E1 Transfer Songs 11 You will see a message at the top of the iTunes screen when the music transfer is complete. If you still see Do Not Disconnect on your phone and you want to disconnect your phone: PC: Quit iTunes and use the Safely Remove Hardware icon at the bottom of your computer screen to disconnect your phone. Mac: Click on the Eject button next to the phone icon in iTunes. 12 On your phone, scroll right to change the USB connection back to Data/Fax. motorola ROKR model E1 Play Music 1 5 To add music to your iTunes library, you can purchase music from the iTunes Music Store or import CDs. Scroll to a song, then press PLAY. To learn more, visit www.apple.com/support/itunes for information on how to load music into iTunes. Press the joystick up or down to adjust the volume. While a song is playing: Press the joystick left or right to go to the previous or next song. Press the iTunes key. 2 You can also press PLAY to play songs from a playlist, album, or artist. To play songs in random order, scroll to Shuffle Songs and press PLAY. To select a specific song, first scroll to Artists, then scroll right to see the list of artists on your phone. 3 Scroll to an artist, then scroll right to see a list of the artist's albums. 4 Scroll to an album, then scroll right to see the list of the songs on the album. Hold the joystick to the left or right to rewind or fast forward the current song. motorola ROKR model E1 Take and Send a Picture 1 Press the Camera key. 2 Press the joystick up or down to zoom in or out, and left or right to adjust the image brightness. 4 Press Store. 5 Select the desired option, then press the joystick. In this demo, we'll show you how to send the picture in a message. 6 3 Press Capture. You can enter a short message to send with the picture. Enter your message and then press SEND TO, or just press SEND TO to send the picture without a message. 7 Pick the message recipients by scrolling to one or more names and pressing the joystick after selecting each one. When all names are selected, press SEND. Tip: To deselect a name, highlight it and press the center navigation key. It is deselected when the checkmark disappears. motorola ROKR model E1 View Your Pictures 1 Press the Camera key. 2 Press the Menu key. 3 Press the joystick. Tip: Use the Switch Storage Device option to switch between viewing the pictures on your phone and the pictures on the memory card. 4 Scroll to a picture, then press VIEW. Press the Menu key to see more things you can do with the picture, such as send it or apply it as a screen saver or wallpaper. motorola ROKR model E1 Pair (Link) Headset 1 Press the Menu key. 2 Scroll to Settings, then press the joystick. 5 Scroll to Setup, then press the joystick. 8 Immediately open the folding boom microphone. The LED should remain steadily lit. 6 Scroll to Power, then right press the joystick to turn the power on. 9 On your phone, press BACK. 3 Scroll to Connection, then press the joystick. 7 Press and hold the Call button until the LED turns on and remains steadily lit. 4 Press the joystick. If the LED is flashing or does not remain steadily lit, make sure the headset is fully charged and then repeat this step. Note: If you are using a different headset than the Motorola HS850 shown here, see the headset Quick Start Guide for instructions on how to put your headset into pairing mode. 10 Scroll to Handsfree, then press the joystick. motorola ROKR model E1 Pair (Link) Headset 11 14 Press the joystick. Enter the passkey 0000, then press OK. When pairing is successful, the LED on the headset changes from steadily lit to flashing. 12 Press the joystick. 13 Press YES. 15 To confirm your phone and headset are successfully paired and operating properly, put the headset on and make a call. If your phone and headset are successfully paired, you will hear ringing. motorola ROKR model E1 Autoconnect Feature 1 Press the Menu key. 2 Scroll to Settings, then press the joystick. 3 Scroll to Connection, then press the joystick. 5 Scroll to Device History, then press the joystick. 6 Scroll to the headset name, then press the joystick. 7 Scroll to Access, then scroll right to change the Access setting to Automatic. 4 Press the joystick. 8 Press DONE. 9 To use your headset, simply open the folding boom microphone. Your phone will automatically connect to the headset. To disconnect your phone from the headset, close the folding boom microphone.
