presents GALLUP Impact-Test for 21st May 2013 History • The Gallup - Impact-Test is based on a method developed by Gallup & Robinson in the 30s. Since many years this test has been used to check print advertising in the United States, in Canada, in the countries of Central and South America and in Europe (France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany) • In Austria this method has been used by the institute for the first time in 1956, in the following years it has been adapted especially for posttesting of TV, posters, radio, cinema, infoscreen and web. • Since 1970 we are checking continuously most of the TV campaigns and built up a testseries with, by now more than 12.700 Spots. 2 Method advertising-posttest for TV, radio, movie-spots, infoscreen, and print-ads in newspapers and magazines face to face interviews carried out in Vienna Medium TV Sample 300 watchers of TV (DAR) (ca. 100 respondents per test-adblock) Ads 100 reader of the test edition Radio 100 listeners Cinema 100 visitors Infoscreen 100 watchers of Infoscreen Poster 1000 Person Web 300 visitors of testwebsites 3 Survey-elements • Recall (spontaneous, product-, brand aided) • Impact (percentage of respondents able to name specifically correct elements) • reproduced visual and textual elements • message reception • associative background • acceptance • contact-, frequency (TV, radio) • Recognition (Print, Web, Poster) 4 Elevation of attention in 3 levels SPONTANEOUS RECALL PRODUCT-AIDED RECALL BRAND-AIDED RECALL RECALL OF VISUAL AND TEXTUAL ELEMENTS IMPACT-ANALYSIS IMPACT-RATE 5 Definition of „Impact-rate“ The impact rate is the percentage of persons having been in contact with the medium during the period of appearance who correctly state visual or textual elements that can identify the commercial in question and so “prove” the commercial’s reception. 6 Output examples 7 Output examples Ad tracking 8 Output examples Overview table 9 Output examples Zusammenfassung Pearle "Altersrabatt 16Sek" und "Chr.
