The first Symposium on Interventional and Surgical Treatment of Emphysema two years ago was a
big success and many of you have asked us to organize another symposium. In the last two years
several studies have been published on this topic providing new evidence to discuss.
We are delighted to invite you to the 2nd international Symposium on Interventional and Surgical
Treatment of Emphysema that will take place in Zurich on January 22-23, 2016. We are pleased to
let you know that many international experts have agreed to participate and share their expertise
on this topic.
The symposium will offer an excellent platform for discussing patient selection strategies and
interdisciplinary concepts in the management of advanced emphysema with a special focus on
endobronchial or video-assisted thoracoscopic treatment of lung hyperinflation.
The aim of the symposium is to better describe the various treatment options in advanced emphysema and how they should be used in individual patients. The target audiences are pulmonologists,
thoracic surgeons and chest radiologists.
