Linie Pfalz/Ugartstal mit Moldaurepublik – Canada
Familienforschung hat gezeigt, dass bereits ungefähr 1650 Familienmitglieder aus
Thüringen/ü.Regensburg nach der Pfalz abwanderten. Die Daten zeigen, dass
Familienmitglieder , die aus der Gegend um Pirmasens kamen (die Westliche Pfalz und
damals unter der Habsburg/ österreichischen Herrschaft).
Lorenz H. ging über Wien nach Ugurtstal. Ugurtstal ist in Galizien nahe Lemberg. Auch
Brunnental in Galizien wurde im Zusammenhang mit Familienmitgliedern genannt.
Kishinev war in damaliger Zeit von einer bestimmten "Welt" – Standard. Die genannten
Hackenschmidt könnten von Galicia-Lemberg über Moldawien von dort ausgewandert sein.
Moldawien selbst war während der Zeiten ebenfalls unter österreichischem Protektorat,
danach unter Rumänischer und jetzt unter Russischer Herrschaft. Es kann wahrscheinlich
der Antrittsort der Auswanderung nach Canada gewesen sein.
Bedeutungsvoll ist auch die Verbindung zu Phillips-Familien, die aus Lothringen in die
Galizien-Region wanderten. Durch Heirat einer Phillips-Tochter entstanden familiäre
Verbindungen, die dazu führten, dass Hackenschmidt- Angehörige den Phillips-Familien
später auch nach Canada folgten

Family Research has shown that around 1620 already Thuringian Family members moved to
Palatina and Lorraine.
The data show that years before Philipp H. immigrated, Hackenschmidt Family members
coming from Palatina( which is Western Palatina and was then under Habsburg Austrian
Reign)went via Vienna to Ugurtstal in Galicia. Also a settlement named „Brunnental” nearby
was mentioned in connection with family settlements. Ugurtstal is in Galicia near Lemberg
and thus north of Kischinev. Kishinev again is much more comfortable from landscape and
climate(Closer to the Black Sea) and is a Wine region, at that time of a certain “World”standard. Family members might have proceeded through Galicia-Lemberg to Moldova, for
immigration. Moldova itself was during the times under Austrian protectorate too, thereafter
under Romanian and now under URS/Russian Federation Roof. It may be that Kischinev
was only the place of departure and immigration for Canada.
The connection with the Phillips families which moved from Lorraine to the Galicia region is
of certain importance: By marriage of a Philipps daughter with a Hackenschmidt originated
family connections which led to the result that Hackenschmidt member followed the Philipps
families to Canada

Lorraine connection between the Hackenschmidt and the Philipps families
The oldest ancestor in a straight line that I found as of today is Hans Jakob Philipps, born
about 1640 in a small village Berling, which lies opposite to Zillingen, on the other side of the
highway Strasbourg - Pfalsbourg - Sarre-Union. His grandson Hans Peter died in Zillingen in
1755. His son Johann Jakob was born in April 1721 (surely in Zillingen), which confirms his
death from 1790 stating, that "on 15th day of October 1790 died in Zillingen, its citizen and a
former judge", as well as his marriage: "on the 23rd day of August 1746, which marriage took
place, after triple announcements, of Johann Jakob, the legal son of Peter Philipps living in
Zilling, and Christine Weiland, daughters of Abraham Rose, living in Schalbach." Similarly
their son - also Johann Jakob, was born in Zillingen on 29th May 1751, but the birth
document was done in the parish church in Wintersburg .
This Johann Jakob got married on 28th April 1778 in Hirschland (Lotaringia) with Eva
Grossmann (born on 1st July 1745 in Hirschland). In June 1784 Johann Jakob Philipps
together with his wife and his son Nikolaus left for Ugartsthal in Galicia, probably travelling
with them was also Christine Hackenschmidt nee Philipps.

Ugartsthal, eine deutsche Kolonie im Verwaltungsbezirk von Kalusz, 7 Km Westlich von
Kalusz (Bezirks – Gericht, Bahnstation, Büro Post- und Telegraf). Im Norden liegt Wierzchnia
und Molciska zum östlichen Kalusz zum südlichen Siwka auf dem westlichen Kropiwnik.
Durch das Zentrum fließt der Kropiwnik Strom, durch den nördlichen Teil Fronilow oder
Fornelów, Zustrom von Kropiwnik. Gebäude der Dorflage sind nahe der Grenze von Siwka
(Mt. 316 M). Das Dorf bildet eine Kommune mit Siwka.
1880 waren dort 62 Häuser, 423 Einwohner in der Kommune (43 Griechische Katholiken, 3
Katholiken, 365 Protestanten, 12 Israeliten; 14 Polen, 43 Rusins (Ruthenian, alter Name für
den Ukrainer), 366 Deutsche). Das Evangelische Kirchspiel am Platz von 1784, die Kirche
von 1788. Zum Kirchspiel gehören 3320 Seelen. Zweige: Landestreu, Nowica, und Petranka.
Im Dorf gibt es eine religiöse{gottgläubige} Schul- und Kommunalkreditgesellschaft
