1. OCAD 9 Service Update 9.4.3 (25.6.2007)
The latest Service Update can be downloaded from
http://www.ocad.com/en/downloads.htm. Recently the Swedish coordinate
system SWEREF 99 TM was added. With the DXF export there is now an option
to export Bezier curves as curves or as polylines. You can see further
enhancements and improvements at http://www.ocad.com/en/UpdateOcad9.txt.
2. OCAD orienteering course setting
A new feature is that only one category can be optionally printed out in
the header of the control description, even if the course is used for
several categories.
3. FAQ
What can I do if the object information is not displayed for objects of a
Shapefile (error message: Field ID not found)?
If the file name contains more than 8 characters, the dBase file with the
object information cannot be opened. In these cases the Shapefile must be
renamed. Please note that all related files (*.dbf, *.shp and *.shx) must
be renamed.
4. Worldwide applications of OCAD (references)
OCAD is deployed in a whole plethora of industries all over the world. Some

5. OCAD Films
The collection of OCAD films on the most diverse topics was extended again,
e.g. to include the topic: Import Adobe Illustrator symbols into OCAD or
drawing street intersections and overpasses. All films can be downloaded at
http://www.ocad.com/en/howtos.htm.
6. New UMPCs
UMPCs are suitable for mobile cartography. OCAD can be used on most devices
i.e. those running the operating systems Windows XP or Vista.
Apart from the popular UMPCs: Asus R2H, OQO 01+, Sony Vaio UX, The
TabletKiosk eo™ i7210, Founder the following new UMPCs are available on the
market: Acturion Freewalker 7, Motion Computing LS800, PaceBlade, EasyBook
P7, PBJ SmartCaddie, plus three new “ruggedized” UMPCs: MobileDemand
xTablet, Xplore iX 104C3 and SwitchBack.
7. OCAD AG developed SNAP
OCAD AG developed the OCAD-based, customized map drawing software for the
Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP). This project (SNAP) was
initiated in the USA by the transport ministry of the State of Utah, in
order to support head masters and local authorities with a program that can
be used for increasing the safety of school routes. The project contains a
manual, the SNAP drawing software, and a series of measures in order to
promote the safety and health of the pupils. www.udot.utah.gov/sr2s/.
8. OCAD AG seeks resellers
OCAD AG is looking for resellers for the worldwide sales of OCAD.

9. OCAD AG supports A-levels and graduate theses
OCAD AG supports undergraduates and A-level pupils in a whole range of
projects. Projects presently running are for remote sensing and GPS

1. OCAD 9 Service Update 9.4.3 (25.6.2007)
Unter http://www.ocad.com/de/downloads.htm kann das neuste Service Update
heruntergeladen werden. Neu wurde das Schwedische Koordinatensystem SWEREF
99 TM hinzugefügt. Beim DXF-Export besteht neu die Option Bézierkurven als
Kurven oder als Polylines zu exportieren. Weitere Ergänzungen und
Verbesserungen sehen Sie unter http://www.ocad.com/en/UpdateOcad9.txt.
2. OCAD OL-Bahnlegung
Neu kann optional im Kopf der Postenbeschreibung nur eine Kategorie
ausgedruckt werden, auch wenn die Bahn für mehrere Kategorien verwendet
wird.
3. FAQ
Was kann ich tun, wenn die Objektinformationen zu Objekten eines Shapefiles
nicht angezeigt werden (Fehlermeldung: Field ID not found)?
Wenn der Dateiname mehr als 8 Zeichen enthält, kann die dBase-Datei mit den
Objektinformationen nicht geöffnet werden. In solchen Fällen muss das
Shapefile umbenannt werden. Bitte beachten, dass alle zugehörigen Dateien
(*.dbf, *.shp und *.shx) umbenannt werden müssen.

OCAD wird weltweit in verschiedensten Branchen eingesetzt. Einige Beispiele

5. OCAD HowTos
Die Sammlung von OCAD-Filmen zu verschiedensten Themen ist wieder erweitert
worden, wie z.B. zum Thema: Import von Adobe Illustrator-Symbolen in OCAD
oder Zeichnen von Strassenkreuzungen und -überführungen. Alle Filme können

6. Neue Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC)
UMPC's eignen sich für die mobile Kartographie. Auf den meisten Geräten jene mit den Betriebssystemen Windows XP oder Vista - kann OCAD eingesetzt
werden.
Neben den bekannten UMPC’s: Asus R2H, OQO 01+, Sony Vaio UX, The
TabletKiosk eo™ i7210, Founder sind folgende neue UMPC's auf dem Markt

7. Die OCAD AG entwickelte SNAP
Die OCAD AG entwickelte basierend auf OCAD die kundenspezifische
Kartenzeichnungs-Software the Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP) —
Dieses Projekt (SNAP) wurde durch das Transport-Ministerium des Staates
Utah, USA, initiiert, um Schulleiter und kommunale Behörden mit einem
Programm zu unterstützten, welches zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit von
Schulwegen eingesetzt werden kann. Das Projekt beinhaltet ein Handbuch, die
SNAP Zeichnungssoftware und eine Serie von Massnahmen, um die Sicherheit
