Where it all began:
The historical iron hammer
works in Hasloch, Spessart,
remains in operation today as
an industrial memorial.

– not far from the iron hammer
works in Hasloch.

Founded as iron hammer works in 1779 in Hasloch
in Spessart, the Kurtz Group has developed into an
internationally operating conglomerate. Today, we are
technological or world market leaders in many fields.
The corporate group is in the ownership of the sixth
generation of the family.

The manufacturing technologies and procedures utilized
by the Kurtz Group are extremely diverse. What they all
have in common, and what we have firmly anchored in

Guaranteed Deliverability
KURTZ customers rely on a technological lead
At our three foundries, we produce grey and nodular
cast-iron parts, low-pressure die-cast parts made of
aluminium and aluminium / nonferrous heavy metal sand
casting parts. Hand-molded parts are also manufactured
in serial production processes. For example, we annually
cast 1200 units from a product range of planetary carriers
for wind power plants, each one weighing between two and
five tons. According to a DENA study, by 2020 this industry
will record an average annual growth rate of 16%. These
products are characterized by the most demanding quality
specifications with regard to materials and metallurgy (ADI).
We will maintain our lead over the competition through ongoing innovation. Despite the rapidly growing market, KURTZ
guarantees its customers capacity and supply capability.

Kurtz Metals is a highly capable supplier of parts, modules
and complete systems ready to be installed. This business
segment offers cast and sheet metal components under
the KURTZ brand name through the selection of ideal
material specifications. Machining rounds off the portfolio.
Kurtz Metals also develops and produces low-pressure
casting machinery for the casting industry.

Reproducible precision from the technology leader
The manual soldering of wired components has become
an economically unviable factor in countries with high
wage costs and with regard to reproducibility aspects.
Today, this is fully compensated for in the electronics
manufacturing industry by selective soldering systems.
ERSA is the world leader with its VERSAFLOW inline
selective soldering systems.
For years AIRBUS has been relying on the precision of

of soldering can be reliably and comfortably reproduced.

Innovative Foam Packaging
Transport capacity increased by 68%
The global boom in flat-panel screens results in
logistical concepts that become more and more
complex. In collaboration with its partners, KURTZ
was able to increase the transport capacity of each
40-foot container for Samsung SDI by 68% with
its new PDP packaging. The project specifications
were extremely demanding. As the screens have
to be stored horizontally and stacked, both torsion
resistance on the one hand and sufficient flexibility to
absorb shock on the other hand are necessary.
High-end In Particle Foams
Kurtz Plastics provides machinery and plants for the
particle foam processing industry under the KURTZ brand
name. Our customers’ end products include mouldings
such as packings, helmets or technical components for
the automotive industry. Our machines are also used to
manufacture polystyrene blocks that are then processed
into insulating for the construction industry.

Appropriate frames with a high material density
on the outside and low density on the inside were
constructed as a rest for the flat-panel screens.
This process technique, which has been utilized
for years in the EPS field for dual-density parts,
was employed here on an industrial scale for EPP
products for the very first time. Having attained
series-production readiness, this innovative
technology is now being used in the production of
PDP packagings for Samsung SDI.
