The company uses embryos of zebra fish whose reactions make it possible to study more than a thousand toxins at the same time. It is also possible to target specific toxins as well as the toxicological mechanics of the samples studied. This method can be used in many areas such as food, medecine, plastic products, cosmetics or any other substance which can enter into contact with people, like water, for example. The process consists in formatting transgenic embryos so that they react to precisely identified aggressions. Either the fluorescence of the embryos or the way they are pathologically modified shows the toxicity of the substances tested. It is extremely fast, since the embryos react in 48 to 72 hours after the sample has been inoculated. VITARGENT INTERNATIONAL was founded by Eric Z.X. Chen and is managed by Jimmy Tao, its CEO. The technologies they have developed in the last 10 years have already convinced many multinationals to entrust their product testing to them. The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva also rewarded 54 other especially deserving inventions among the 1’000 presented. ==================== The complete prize list, texts and photos of the winner at www.inventions-geneva.ch With the compliments of Gérard Sermier, Press officer.
