Seit 7 Jahren sorgt «The International Comedy Club» dafür, dass Basel jeden zweiten Donnerstag zwei exzellente Acts der englischsprachigen Comedyszene
live erleben kann und – wieder einmal etwas zu Lachen hat.
Nicht nur die Comedians, die Guy Stevens in die Schweiz holt sind eine internationale Truppe. Auch das Publikum, das sich alle zwei Wochen in Genf,
Lausanne, Zürich und Basel zu einem «real good laugh» in der Kuppel einfindet wird immer internationaler – nicht von ungefähr kommt daher auch der Name für
die Standup Comedy Reihe: Ex Pats, Franzosen, Deutsche und ein paar Schweizer sind im Publikum wenn donnerstags das Zwerchfell zum Einsatz kommt.

Schon als kleiner Junge begann Tim lustige Geschichten zu erzählen – seine Karriere als Comedian begann schon in frühester Jugend. 1999 trat er schliesslich mit
James Carey und Jonny Saunders bei „Infinite Number of Monkeys – Sketch Comedy of Hypotheticals“ das erste Mal am Edinburgh Fringe Festival auf, und wurde
umgehend für den Perrier Comedy Award (heute The Edinburgh Comedy Award) als bester Newcomer nominiert. Im Jahr 2000 gründete Tim die Agentur „Infinite
Number of Monkeys“ und gewann im gleichen Jahr den Spirit of the Fringe Award. Sein guter Name machte schnell die Runde – sowohl in der Szene als auch in der
Presse: Zeitschriften wie The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Obeserver, Time Out und Metro lobten seine ausdrucksstarke Art.
Wir sind gespannt und freuen uns, dass er auch bei uns in der Kuppel Halt machen wird.

Christian Schulte-Loh ist einer der seltenen Standup Comedy Acts aus Deutschland, die bereits in zahlreichen Clubs und Festivals in über 12 Ländern aufgetreten sind.
Von den Medien wurde er als „ein sehr lustiger Deutscher – der einzige“ (KKunst Magazine, Belgium) oder „eines der subversivsten Künstler je“ (The Spectator) betitelt.
Er tritt in drei verschiedenen Sprachen auf: Englisch, Deutsch und Spanisch. Wir sind gespannt auf diesen Multilingual und freuen uns darauf ihn bei in der Kuppel
begrüssen zu dürfen.

In 2006 Londoner Guy Stevens founded «The International Comedy Club» with the intent of introducing the cultural concept of Stand Up Comedy Clubs to
Switzerland. Due to its ever increasing popularity and acceptance from being a niche 'Expat' entertainment to part of the general cultural landscape of
Switzerland it attracts Swiss and international Anglophones alike. Over the last seven years it has grown from the first shows in Zurich to include shows in Basel,
Lausanne and Geneva. These shows are presented nearly every two weeks from September until June. Guy Stevens, son of a well known English comedy actor,
is recognized and acknowledged by comedians and the comedy industry alike, which enables him to bring a well-known and hot new Standup acts from the UK,
USA, Canada or Australia to bring joy and laughter to our little country

FitzHigham began telling funny stories in a rum shop in the West Indies while working as a pig farmer, this may have been the beginnings of his work as a stand-up
comedian. Back in the UK in 1999, he performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with James Carey and Jonny Saunders in "Infinite Number of Monkeys - Sketch
Comedy of Hypotheticals", where he was nominated for the Perrier Comedy Award (now the Edinburgh Comedy Award) for best newcomer. In 2000 he established
Infinite Number of Monkeys as a production company and in the same year won a Spirit of the Fringe Award. His live shows, with topics ranging from the Karma Sutra to
sailing a bath across the English Channel to Morris Dancing, have been made Critic’s Choice in various newspapers, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily
Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Observer, The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, The Evening Standard, Time Out and Metro. The shows he has
performed include Don Quixote, in which he attempted to live like a medieval knight errant in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the publication of the novel Don
Quixote. When he appeared as a guest on BBC Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity, he donated the novel Don Quixote to the museum. Eventually it was decided that
Don Quixote would be better suited as the security guard on the museum steps where he could do less damage. In 2011, he was nominated for the Malcolm Hardee

Christian Schulte-Loh is an international stand-up act from Germany that has performed in clubs and at festivals in more than a dozen countries. Christian regularly
performs at the biggest clubs in the UK, Germany and on the European circuit. He has been called “a funny German – the only one!” (KKUNST MAGAZINE, Belgium).;
and THE SPECTATOR wrote about him: “one of the most subversive acts ever”. Christian performs in three languages: English, German and Spanish. He has toured the
world, won several awards (including "King Gong" at London's Comedy Store) and regularly appears at the Edinburgh Fringe.
