Important notes:
Please read the Foundation's funding criteria (listed on our website) and make sure that your
project is eligible for funding by the Federal Cultural Foundation before filling out the
application form.
Please note the following points:
1. Use the application form provided below to apply for project funding.
2. Applications must be typed, either with a computer or typewriter.
3. Applications must be filled out completely. The areas marked in grey will be filled in
by the Foundation. If you need more space, please complete your answers on a
separate sheet.
4. Provide written statements from the project’s artistic director(s) (e.g. a curator for an
exhibition or a director for a theatre production) or participant with similar
responsibilities.
5. If your project will take place in a theatre, museum or similar institution, include a
written assurance from the institution that it will provide a significant amount of its
own resources for the event. Be sure to take this funding into account in your planned
costs.
6. Check your cost estimates carefully.
The Federal Cultural Foundation is obliged to refuse project funding, cancel funding
retrospectively or demand the return of monies already paid in cases where the project’s
description, or its cost and finance plan is found to contain serious discrepancies. This also
applies to projects of which significant parts are altered retrospectively without immediately
informing the Foundation of these changes. The Foundation’s Jury can only consider your
project if your application is received by the Foundation on time (a single copy is enough).
Documents that are valid by the day of submission deadline apply to all applications from the
preceding term. The dates of upcoming Jury sessions and submission deadlines can be found
on our website.
On receipt of your application, the Federal Cultural Foundation will immediately notify you in
writing. Regrettably, the Foundation is generally unable to enter into correspondence with you
to clarify or complete details of your application. Once rejected, applications may not be
resubmitted.
Please help us to evaluate our measures by answering the questions bellow 7. Your answers in
this section will not be considered by the jury.

3. Statement by the applicant
1. I confirm that the information I have provided is complete and true. I undertake to
inform the Federal Cultural Foundation immediately of all relevant changes in the
project, in particular, those regarding its financing.
2. I am aware that I have no legal claim to funding from the Federal Cultural
Foundation. The Foundation will only award funding on a contractual basis, based on
the project description and cost estimate submitted by the applicant. If the applicant is
found to have influenced the Foundation's decision by giving false information in
these documents or in this application, the Foundation reserves the right to refuse all
further payment and demand the return of all monies already paid to the applicant; the
applicant is then obliged to pay them back.
3. I, the undersigned, hereby give the Federal Cultural Foundation permission to store
the information and personal data which I have provided and to forward this to third
parties, inasmuch as the information is necessary for the planned funding of my
project.

5. Additional material

Please describe in brief the topics and goals of your project (about 3600 characters or 40 lines, font
size 11 pts). For international projects, describe how you plan to ensure the visibility of the project
in Germany.

Please answer the following questions to help us evaluate and, if necessary, adjust our funding

Please note that the Federal Cultural Foundation cannot fund your project if you are
already receiving funding from Bundesbeauftrage für Kultur und Medien (Federal
Commissioner for Culture and the Media) or any subsidiary institution, for instance:
Hauptstadtkulturfonds (German Capital Culture Fund), Stiftung Kulturfonds (The Arts
Fund Foundation), Deutscher Literaturfonds (German Literature Fund), Fonds
Darstellende Künste (Performing Arts Fund), Fonds Soziokultur (Sociocultural Fund),
Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation).
