the youth of the German Ballooning Association (Ballonsportjugend des DFSV,
Deutscher Freiballonsport Verband) and the Luftsportjugend des DAeC invites young
people to participate the 11. International Ballooning Youth Camp in Germany.
We want to host our tent camp south of Stuttgart (Baden-Württemberg) at Horb, next
to the river Neckar for one week from 3rd till 9th of August 2008. If the weather will be
suitable we will explore the countryside between Black Forest and Schwäbische Alb
with hot air balloons and gas balloons.
Based on our main interest – flying with balloons – we want to build a team of all
participants of this international youth camp which works together with a good team
spirit in our tent camp (cooking, dish washing,…) as well as in sporting and leisure
activities (playing ball games, swimming,…) and at excursions (e.g. Daimler-BenzMuseum,…).
Who can join in the youth camp ?
Everyone between 14 and 21 years interested in ballooning and in an international
summer tent camp. The participants should be able to communicate in English.
How much is the contribution ?
The participation fee is 109 Euro. It includes accommodation in our camp of tents,
meals and drinks, leisure-activities, excursions and ballooning. Participants will need
to organise their own travel to and from the camp.

of August 2008 at Horb / Germany. I have been informed that I’ve to pay an expense contribution if I don’t
come or shortly cancel. I’ve read the camp rules thoroughly and I am prepared to keep to these rules during the

Camp Rules for Youth Camps of the Ballonsportjugend
To establish a basis for a successful youth camp and to intend a good time to all participants,
organizers, drivers and pilots it is a duty to all participants to keep in mind the following camp rules:
1. Every participant is required to unpack and build up the tent camp at the first day and to strike and
pack the tent camp at the last day of the event. For preparing meals and wash dishes, for excursions,
ballooning and other activities during the camp the attention and aid of every participant is needed.
2. Every participant is personally responsible for his property. The camp leaders are not responsible
for forgotten or lost things.
3. Please act ecology-minded. Don’t throw waste to the environment. In Germany waste separation is
mandatory: Use the trash cans for paper, glass, plastic & metal packaging or non-recyclable waste.
4. Nighttimes quiet hours will be proclaimed or published to the notice-board if necessary.
5. The drinking of alcohol is regulated by laws for the protection of minors. Participants over 18 years
are allowed to drink alcohol moderately. Alcohol abuse won’t be tolerated. Disregarding the rules could
cause the exclusion of the participant from the youth camp.
6. The smoking of tobacco is regulated by laws for the protection of minors. Participants over 18 years
are allowed to smoke if they stay away from non-smokers and the fume doesn’t bother someone.
Smoking in tents, buildings, cars, balloons and in the vicinity of balloons or fuelling stations is strictly
prohibited. Disregarding the rules could cause the exclusion of the participant from the youth camp.
7. Swimming is allowed with permission of the camp leaders only.
Lagerordnung der Ballonsportjugend
Damit das Jugenlager richtig funktioniert und den teilnehmenden Jugendlichen sowie auch Betreuern,
Fahrern und Piloten Spaß macht, muß jeder Teilnehmer die folgenden Regeln beachten:
1. Beim Auf -und Abbau des Zeltlagers, dem gemeinsamen Zubereiten von Mahlzeiten und dem
Abwasch sowie bei den Ausflügen, Aktivitäten und Ballonfahrten während des Lagers wird
Aufmerksamkeit und Mithilfe von jedem Teilnehmer benötigt.
2. Jeder Teilnehmer hat selbständig auf seine persönlichen Sachen zu achten. Die Betreuer sind nicht
für vergessene oder verlorene Sachen verantwortlich.
3. Denkt bitte an die Umwelt. Werft keinen Müll in die Natur und vermeidet unnötigen Müll. In
Deutschland gibt es Mülltrennung: Der anfallende Müll muß in den dafür vorgesehenen Papier-,
Glass-, Plastik- & Metallverpackungsmüll oder Restmüll-Behälter entsorgt werden.
4. Die Nachtruhe wird bei Bedarf ausgerufen oder am schwarzen Brett ausgehängt.
5. Der Konsum von Alkohol unterliegt den Beschränkungen des Jugendschutzgesetzes. Teilnehmer
über 18 Jahren dürfen Alkohol in geringen Mengen konsumieren. Alkoholmisbrauch wird von der
Lagerleitung nicht toleriert. Bei Mißachtung der Regeln behält sich die Lagerleitung einen Ausschluss
des / der betreffenden Teilnehmer/-in vor.
6. Der Konsum von Tabak unterliegt den Beschränkungen des Jugendschutzgesetzes. Rauchen ist
Teilnehmern über 18 Jahren erlaubt, wenn sie sich entfernt von Nichtrauchern aufhalten und der
Rauch niemanden belästigt. Es gilt in allen Gebäuden, Zelten, Fahrzeugen, Ballonen und in der Nähe
von Ballonen und Tankstellen ein absolutes Rauchverbot. Bei Mißachtung der Regeln behält sich die
Lagerleitung einen Ausschluss des / der betreffenden Teilnehmer/-in vor.
7. Das Schwimmen ist nur mit Erlaubnis der Betreuer gestattet.
